In this episode I am speaking with Fabio Savioa. Fab was born 3 months premature and lives with Cerebral Palsy (CP), spending 90% of his time in his wheel chair. But Fab hasn't let that stop him participate in as many sports and exercise activities as he can
We discuss his day to day life with CP; how it affects him, how he uses it as motivation to lift weights, play wheelchair football and rugby as well as spar boxing in a wheelchair
We discuss how Australia should be catching up to some European nations who give people who use a wheelchair opportunities to compete in other sports, eg boxing. And we discuss the possibility that wheelchair boxing is potentially safer than boxing standing up
Fab brings to the conversation the Australian Football League (AFL). Fab is an avid AFL supporter and we discuss in depth our favourite AFL players of all time and with him being a Crows supporter and myself a Power supporter we discuss the best Crows and Port players
To finish we discuss video gaming, which gaming consoles we played on as a kid and adult and some of the games that help us relax
If there is anyone out there who is passionate about disability sports, please like, share, comment or contact the podcast. We would love to get some support behind this
