Former Ohio State running back Vince Workman joins Joe Lisi on The Weekly Blitz. Workman was a standout for the Buckeyes from 1985-1988 rushing for 1,882 yards averaging 4.6 yards per carry with 13 rushing touchdowns. He was an excellent receiver who caught 54 passes for 584 yards with 2 touchdowns.

Workman played in the NFL from 1989-1996 rushing for 1,737 yards averaging 4.4 yards per carry with 13 touchdowns. He also caught 179 passes for 1,294 yards with 7 touchdowns. Workman was an all purpose running back who played with intensity and heart. He went on to be a scout for the Packers from 1999-2001 and become assistant strength coach for Green Bay from 2001-2005.

Former Louisville Cardfinals RB Lionel Gates joins Joe Lisi On The Weekly Blitz.

 

Gates was a standout from 2001-2004 rushing for 1,475 yards averaging 4.8 yards per carry with  20 touchdowns. He was an all-around running back who caught 40 passes for 469 yards averaging 11.7 yards per carry with 2 receiving touchdowns. 

Gates had great speed and was a tough inside runner who was not afraid of contact. The trio of Gates, Michael Bush and Eric Shelton was a loaded backfield for head coach Bobby Petrino in leading the Cardinals to a 11-1 record in 2004 with a top 10 ranking. 

Gates was drafted in the 7th round by the Buffalo Bills and played from 2005-2007 for Buffalo and Tampa Bay

Former Tennessee Volunteer and NFL running back Charlie Garner joins Joe Lisi on The Weekly Blitz. 

Garner was a standout for Tennessee from 1992-1993. Garner rushed for 2,089 and 10 touchdowns. Garner was a second round draft pick for the Philadelphia Eagles and played for the Eagles, San Francisco, Oakland and Tampa Bay from 1994-2004. 

In his NFL career, Garner rushed for 7,097 ruhsing yards averaging 4.6 yards per carry and 39 touchdowns. He was an excellent receiver who caught 419 passes for 3,711 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Garner had great excelleration and quickness. His great vision allowed him to cut on a dime and has some of the most incredible runs in NFL history.

Former OSU QB Greg Frey discusses the Buckeyes 2014 National Championship over Oregon 42-20 in the first ever College Football Playoff. 

Greg and I will speak about the performance of the team and what to look for in the 2015 season.

Former UAB Special Teams coach Daric Riley joins Joe Lisi to talk about special teams in college football. 

Riley had the nation's best kickoff return coverage in the country averaging 28.1, 1,323 kickoff return yards and touchdowns (4). UAB finished the 2014 season with a 6-6 overall record in the C-USA. The Blazers played Mississippi State, Arkansas, Marshall, La. Tech and Western Kentucky. 

Head coach Bill Clark led a dramtatic turnaround from 2013 where UAB was 2-10 overall. UAB had shutdown the program after the 2014 season and will no longer have a football program.

Former Ohio Stagte quarterback Greg Frey joins Joe Lisi (former ABC Sports college football researcher) as they speak about the upcominng college football playoff game on Jan. 1st 2015 between the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide and the #4 Ohio State Buckeyes.

Former Georgia Bulldogs running back Rodney Hampton joins Joe Lisi on the Weekly Blitz to discuss Georiga's upcoming bowl game with Louisville.

Derek Frazier and Melvin Bratton join Joe Lisi and Corey Allen on the Weekly Blitz.

Frazier was a standout All-American cornerback in College Station and went on to the NFL to play for the Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts.

 

Bratton was a star running back for the Miami Hurricanes from 1984-1987 rushing for 1,435 yards 4.4 yards per carry and 26 touchdowns. He was also an excellent receiver out of the backfield catching passes and had over 1,000 career receiving yards in his days in Coral Gables.

Big Ten Network Analyst Gerry Dinardo speaks with host Joe Lisi (former ABC Sports college football researcher) and co-host Corey Allen (former Georgia Bulldogs WR) about the upcoming college football playoff. Coach Dinardo who previously coached at Vanderbilt, LSU and Indiana.

Joe and Corey also discuss the Big 10 and some of the bowl match ups within the conference.
