So today we really dive into :
What do we really want? What are we longing for? And how often do we actually stop long enough to listen?
As women move through perimenopause and into menopause, so much can shift — our bodies, our priorities, our relationships, our sense of identity, and sometimes even the life we thought we were supposed to want. In this episode, I talk about why learning to listen to our own desires matters, how disconnected we can become from them, and why reconnecting with what feels true to us can be such an important part of our emotional and overall well-being.
This is not about chasing every impulse. It is about becoming more honest with ourselves, paying attention to what keeps calling us, and allowing this stage of life to become a time of deeper self-awareness rather than simply something to “get through.”
I also share a few personal reflections on where I am right now and what I am learning along the way.
If you would like to go deeper and work with me, the best place to connect right now is on Substack, where I’m preparing some exciting new work and resources for you. http://www.cycleswellness.net
You can also follow me on Instagram and YouTube, and if you prefer to watch rather than listen, the video version of this episode is available there too.
Thank you for being here with me, and I’ll see you again next week for another conversation on women’s health, hormones, wellness, and everything that comes with navigating this stage of life

Today’s episode is a beautiful conversation about what it means to move through perimenopause while still holding onto our ambition, dreams, desires and sense of purpose.
It’s about learning to listen to the voice within us — a voice that, for many women, may have been muted for far too long.
I welcome author and coach Marta Keller to share her powerful and deeply relatable journey of rediscovery, ambition and stepping into a new chapter of life.
This is a conversation I think so many of us will see ourselves in.

ABOUT MARTA
Marta Keller is a former lawyer whose work expanded into transformational leadership and building nervous-system capacity for sustainable change. She guides high-achieving women in midlife who have spent years supporting other people’s goals and ambitions and are now sensing there is more for them.
At the center is a return to themselves, a chance to listen more closely to the yearning beneath the question, “What do I want?” From there, they can begin to recognize and move beyond the invisible patterns that have been holding them back, and create a bold, meaningful next chapter that fits who they are today.
An avid hiker and high-altitude trekker, Marta believes preparation can only take us so far. Sometimes we need to step outside the familiar and into an experience that shows us we can handle uncertainty, see ourselves differently, and discover what we’re capable of.

About Steven
I particularly love Steven’s message around positive masculinity, challenging the idea that strength has to mean dominance, aggression or disconnection. Instead, he represents a version of masculinity where strength also means compassion, responsibility, protecting the natural world, respecting animals and looking after the planet we all share.
He is the creator of Plant-Based Academy, where he helps people navigate plant-based fitness and nutrition and shares practical, protein-rich vegan meals and resources. He also has a vibrant instagram page where he shares great vegan content too
Follow him here : https://www.instagram.com/steven.willliams/
Today I talk about Steven’s own journey the experiences that shaped him, the evolution of his beliefs, his personal transformation, and ultimately what led him to become vegan. We also explore how that decision changed far more than simply what was on his plate; it became part of a much bigger transformation in the way he sees himself, masculinity, health, animals and his relationship with the world around him.
So this is a conversation about food and fitness, yes, but it’s also about growth, identity, compassion and what real strength can look like.

About Nelson
Nelson Campbell is an author, filmmaker, entrepreneur and plant-based nutrition advocate. He is the son of Dr T. Colin Campbell, the renowned nutritional biochemist and co-author of The China Study. Nelson wrote and directed the 2015 documentary PlantPure Nation, which explores the health potential of whole-food, plant-based nutrition and the political and economic forces that have limited its adoption. Following the film’s release in more than 100 US cities, he founded the nonprofit organisation PlantPure Communities in 2016 and also established PlantPure, a food and nutrition-education business. Nelson and his wife, Kim Campbell, now live in Saluda, North Carolina, where they are developing a community-based model for sharing plant-based nutrition.
Through PlantPure Communities, they also host small, immersive retreats in the Blue Ridge Mountains that combine nutritional education, plant-based food, nature and community connection. Before entering the plant-based movement, Nelson spent approximately 25 years as a business entrepreneur. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in economics from Cornell University. He is an experienced public speaker whose work encompasses nutrition, economics, public policy and social change. He also writes on these subjects through his publication at NelsonCampbell.com. https://plantpurecommunities.org/about-plantpure-communities/
The Whole Truth: The Hidden Agendas Behind Decades of Health Misinformation—and What to Do About It
The book investigates how commercial interests, institutional structures and prevailing scientific biases can influence the funding, interpretation and communication of nutrition research.
Dr Campbell draws upon more than six decades in nutritional science to examine how reductionist thinking and powerful vested interests have shaped nutrition policy and public understanding. In the final section, Nelson broadens the discussion beyond nutrition science. He examines how these ideas can be communicated to a wider audience and proposes a community-led, bottom-up approach to change—connecting individual health with political participation, social responsibility and collective action. It is both an exposé of the forces behind health misinformation and a call for people to reclaim their agency and help build a healthier, kinder and more connected society.

About Paul
Paul shares how his journey began as a young athlete who suddenly faced serious digestive struggles, and how that experience forced him to separate “fitness” from true health. We talk about the early days of modern raw food culture, and what he learned by watching long-term practitioners succeed, and sometimes make mistakes in this space. We also go deeper into practical lifestyle foundations, from food to mental and spiritual health. Paul offers a grounded angle on sprouts, fermented foods, and doing the best you can with your environment. Paul also helps people grow food at home and connect to nature. Whether you agree with every viewpoint or not, Paul’s perspective is a reminder to stay thoughtful, stay honest, and keep learning.

Welcome back to the podcast.
Today’s conversation is one that is deeply emotional, but also incredibly important—because behind the closed doors of testing laboratories, thousands of animals are still suffering in the name of research.
My guest today is the wonderful Ella Magers: a lifelong animal advocate, plant-based athlete, founder of Sexy Fit Vegan, author, speaker, coach and podcast host. Ella has spent decades helping people align their daily choices with their deepest values—but her advocacy extends far beyond food and wellness.

About Ella
Ella has continually used her voice, her platform and her physical presence to fight for animals, including beagles bred for and confined within testing facilities. Beagles are commonly chosen for laboratory testing precisely because of their gentle, trusting and forgiving nature—and that makes their exploitation particularly heartbreaking.
In this episode, Ella shares the reality facing these dogs, the work being done to bring them out of laboratories and into loving homes, and what freedom looks like for an animal who may never before have felt grass beneath their paws, received a gentle touch or been known by a name rather than a number.
We also talk about what sustained activism really demands, why we cannot look away simply because the truth is uncomfortable, and how each of us can help create a future in which scientific progress no longer depends upon the suffering of sentient beings.
This is a conversation about courage, compassion and the extraordinary resilience of these beautiful dogs. But above all, it is a conversation about freedom—and why we must continue fighting until every cage is empty.

In this conversation, we go far beyond the idea of “what diet should I follow?” and explore something much deeper: how to build a way of eating that truly supports you — physically, emotionally, socially and practically. Because no matter what dietary path you choose, whether it is fully raw, high raw, whole-food vegan, or simply a more plant-rich way of living, one thing is often overlooked: community matters. The people around us, the support we receive, and the examples we can lean on often make the difference between a short-term attempt and a lifestyle that actually feels sustainable. Chris and I speak about how to look at diet through the lens of nourishment rather than restriction. Is your diet giving you what you need? Is it energising you? Is it supporting your digestion, your mood, your movement, your joy? And where do supplements fit into that conversation — are they necessary, are they a “no-no,” or is the answer more nuanced? We also unpack some of the common misconceptions around the 80/10/10 diet, Dr Douglas Graham’s work, and the idea that raw vegan or fruit-based eating is extreme, impossible, or lacking. We talk about what people often misunderstand, what needs to be done properly, and why education and support are so important. Most of all, this episode is about inspiration. It is not about telling everyone they must be fully raw. It is not about dietary perfection. It is about inviting more plants onto the plate, building confidence with vegan food, and helping people feel excited rather than overwhelmed by the possibility of eating in a way that is more aligned with health, compassion and vitality. So whether you are fully raw, high raw, vegan, plant-curious, or simply looking for more colour, freshness and life in your meals, this conversation with Chris Kendall will give you plenty to think about — and hopefully, plenty of encouragement to keep building your own supportive, nourishing plant-based path. About Kiko
Kiko Miwa is a Japanese raw vegan chef, guide, interpreter, author, and the creator of a weekly raw vegan café in Kyoto.
Her journey into raw veganism began over 22 years ago following a series of serious health challenges while living abroad. After exploring conventional and alternative approaches to healing, she discovered the power of raw, plant-based nutrition—a path that transformed not only her physical health but also her relationship with food, nature, and herself.
Having lived in Japan, the United States, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, and France, Kiko brings a global perspective to wellness while remaining deeply rooted in Japanese values and culture. She is passionate about creating simple, beautiful, and nourishing recipes using whole, unprocessed ingredients that make healthy living enjoyable and accessible.
A former business and personal coach, Kiko stepped away from coaching with a promise to herself: she would return only after creating the kind of life she had always dreamed of. Today, she is living that dream and is passionate about helping others create lives filled with health, purpose, joy, and a deeper connection to nature.
Through her YouTube channel, podcast, writing, and café, Kiko shares practical insights on raw vegan living, longevity, mindful eating, and holistic well-being. She is the author of Namadō – My Raw Vegan Journey, which combines her personal story, practical guidance, and 10 signature recipes, and Namadō II – Raw Journey Through Ups and Downs, a more intimate reflection on the challenges, lessons, and practical wisdom she has gained over more than two decades of living the raw vegan lifestyle.
Kiko believes that food is a way of reconnecting with ourselves, each other, and the natural world. Her mission is to help others discover that a healthier, more joyful, and more peaceful life is possible.
