I waxed a little lyrical on today's episode! Whoops!!!

There was a helluva lot to cover: Swimmer's Itch; Pemby evacuation efforts; Record-breaking Temps; the end of school today; Meadow Park being a cooling centre for people yesterday and today; kayaking/floating the Valley trail; the RoGD portage; the petition to change Park Parking for Locals online (at 500+ signatures; Peak Chair potentially opening; Gondola closures due to heat, etc, etc.

This heat wave will be no joke: with temperatures above 30 degrees for the next 10 days; nearing 40 degrees even - treat exposure to the sun seriously and make sure you and others are protected from heat stroke and are well hydrated! <3 Keep blinds closed during the day; time activities in cooler hours; and if you're drinking alcohol, drink water alongside!!! I expect there'll be a fire ban announced for camp fires any day now too!

School is out in a week though and with Day passes being introduced at Garibaldi Park and the Stawamus Chief, as well as Joffre Lakes, I'd be strategically utilising the 'calm before the storm' period, if I were you ;)

Pack sunscreen; bug spray; bear spray; a roadie; and let the good times roll! <3

Sure, it's rainy again but I think we can safely say that we'll be enjoying not having any precipitation for the better part of a whole week! Huzzah!! Expect the skies to clear this afternoon and evening and sunshine to stick around through the weekend.

June 15th marks a change in Covid restrictions here too: Bars can now be open until midnight! Woahhhh. What a notion. Expect your hangovers to intensify ;)
