Our community has been rocked this weekend with the news and losses of several avalanches on Friday and Saturday :'(

Our snowpack has been very reactive and the loss of a super experienced and well loved member of the snowboarding community is a terrible tragedy. Thinking of all those who knew him.

That's right... It's superbly chilly today with an alpien inversion expected and a high pf -15! Current temperatures circa 7am are -22 at Pig Alley level (1600m) and above and it's -16 in the Valley with a high of -9 expected but it will feel like -17 with windchill this afternoon! We'll see a gradual warming over the weekend with scattered flurries come Sunday.

If you thought the last two days were cold, they were in fact tropical in comparison to today and tomorrow. The Arctic Outflow warning for today means we'll be feeling a wind chill of near -18 during the day and it will feel as cold as -26 overnight!

We've had 1cm of new snow, likely a little more on the hill and it's currently overcast, with the clouds forecast to dissipate this afternoon and very clear skies and freezing temps tomorrow and also Friday!
