The Whole Hard Truth

Back at it like a Craftmatic, I’ve been in my creative bubble working. While I can with all sincerity offer that as legitimate reason for TWHT hiatus for the last 3 weeks there is another truth that exists within the same space. Quite honestly I was paralyzed by the fear of recording a podcast without a guest. Sounds nuts right? A cat such as I am... so opinionated and verbose... fearful of taking center stage alone. Well if you got 60 minutes... damn near to the second... I’ll explain fam.

To be young is one thing, young and socially active another. So what's it like to be a young social activist in this era? Well you're about to find out. Elijah Judah, also known in the streets as Young Activist is one of the many voices calling for change in our communities. Leading with his faith, he might be a bit of a throwback in an era where religion is seen by some as regressive. Whether you agree with his spiritual beliefs or not, there's no questioning his love for his community, heart and hustle to be a part of changing things for the better. A warning to the easily offended, this is a big boy / girl pants conversation. A healthy exchange of differing opinions and ideas is always more than welcome and encouraged. A major topic that YA and I spoke on... sex work and the change in perspective of it in the modern era.

The on demand world of streaming content just got hit with a dose of acting smack that will resonate for a while, and my big sis June Carryl is the dealer. You know her as Dr. Louise Hasting of HULU's Helstrom... I know her as Junemoon. To see her acting career rise has been a lesson in knock until they open... or... kick the door down and make yourself at home. And that's exactly what shel has done and how it feels like to watch her do her thing on the big screen. Take note future actors... this is a lesson you'll never forget

Some people work for it, others are born with it... and some people are a mixture of both. My sister Joy Reid is just that. Lomangelo's path to the pinnacle of political punditry is a brilliant example of what happens when hard work and innate talent are applied with persistence. As the haphazardous world of politics continues turn, we can all take heart in the courage and calm that Joy Reid exudes every night while breaking it down like only she can.

Bitcoin hit it's record high recently and isn't showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon. Whether you're skeptical or bullish on the mega money market that crypto appears to be, the phenomenon is poppin off more than ass in a Cardi be video. With big players in the fiat financial space like PayPal and CashApp catching the wave it begs the question, is Cryptocurrency a financial fix, or a fool's gold destined to fail? As with all things new, it's best to ask a person who knows. So I did that. This is The Whole Hard Truth about Bitcoin... Boom or Bust with Brandon West of SALT Lending.

The post election world doesn't seem to be mending seamlessly as many hoped it would. Shocker. Talks with my birthday twinn have always been a calming influence in my world... and now I'm bringing that sense of peace to yours. Popey's chicken, binary political choices, Covid-19 fuckery and finding peace in the midst of chaos. My personal zen master Courtney Alston is in the building, Whole Hard Truth style.
