What with the podcast being new and all one could imagine how happy I am to get feedback. Now... the “good” and “bad” I can handle, but the “indifferent” I cannot stomach. Recently while scrolling through my Apple podcast reviews I saw one that would definitely in the “bad” category of the feedback loop. And so... to that reviewer EODBRANDONBAKER, I dedicate this episode of The Whole Hard Truth. One cannot title a podcast "The Whole Hard Truth" and try to be PC at the same time. Inspired by a recent, fairly high profile situation in the arts community here in Denver, I chose to tee up "toxic femininity" as the topic of discussion for this episode. Is that even a thing? According to Google it most certainly is, though the phrase has yet to take its place next to its masculine counterpart in the callout culture era we're living in. Far be it from me to NOT stir the pot, and my good friend Annie Iselin (aka Annie My) was kind enough to sit with me and chop it up about some taboo subject matter.

If the road to hell is paved with good intentions, the road to recovery and reunion is lined with mines. 10 years is a long time. A lot goes into an absence like that, from people you love dearly. The past can’t be changed, only learned from. Believe me when I say... there’s still much to repair... but I cherish the work and opportunity to do so.

Episode 1 of TWHT is a three part series of a life long conversation about a skeleton in my public / private closet.

With the help of my brothers J.R.(@thotunu1) and David (@avenue_dave) we recap the serpentine route I ran trying to escape childhood trauma. A cypher that reveals how dishonesty with both myself and others drove a decade long wedge between me and two young humans that I love dearly, and am blessed to be rebuilding with.
