Join us as we celebrate the first season of the Whole Story! In our first 6 episodes we talked about what storytelling is, how it shapes who we are as people, performers, and professionals. We talked about the origins of the emerging storytelling scene, the roots of storytelling, and look at where it can go as a medium in the future.
For our first live show, we will have on our season 1 guests (Kevin Allison, Sandi Marx, Nisse Greenberg, Mark Pagan, and Dawn Fraser) and discuss these and more topics in more detail. We’ll also have special guest appearances of storytellers whom you may hear in season 2. The night will be hosted by Asher Novek and Julia Whitehouse, and presented by Nous Entertainment.
In our season 1 finale we got to talk to Dawn Fraser! We learned about how being a coach makes you a better person, why cutting hair is such a perfect pair with storytelling, and why it’s important to always go funky first. Thanks Dawn!

SURPRISE MINI EPISODE WHAAAT!
Hear some of Julia, Asher, and Adams thoughts about our storytelling heroes, narcissism, and whether or not Asher should start wearing high heels to his shows.
Let’s talk about male vulnerability, manhood, hair, poop, telling stories about people in front of them, and how storytelling can help you deal with something you feel shame over. Let’s talk about all these things with our guest, Mark Pagan!
Mark Pagán is an award-winning storyteller, comedian, multimedia artist, and writer best known for his humorous autobiographical and documentary vignettes for stage, television, online, screenings, print, and installation.
Mark’s work and performances have been shown at festivals worldwide including Slamdance Film Festival, Arizona International Film Festival, North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, Chicago Improv Festival. He performs frequently at The Moth, Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater, Peoples Improv Theater, Magnet Theater, Tell it: Brooklyn, No Name, and Split Personality.
Dana Rossi (Soundtrack Series) sat down with us this week to talk about the impact of music on our memories, how to deal with ideas that stop you in your tracks, and stories about cocaine fueled nights that resulted in the creation of the best rock albums of all time.
Dana Rossi is the creator and producer of The Soundtrack Series (www.soundtrackseries.com), which has been called “Superb” by the AV Club and “One of the Ten Best Podcasts in New York” by Time Out New York. She works as a television producer on true crime documentaries.
This week we sat down with the ever-delightful Nisse Greenberg. We discuss the openness and raw emotions that storytelling can and should bring out in us, Nisse’s own personal neuroses, and how a sketch about exploding diarrhea represented his true self.
Nisse Greenberg is an award winning storyteller and educator who has produced a bunch of shows and performed on more of them. He is the co-creator of VHS Presents and Drawn Out Storytelling, and the creator of Bad Feelings. He likes radishes. He once got paid to get naked and cry at lincoln center. He’s sick right now. He thinks it’s a sinus infection. He drank some horseradish and apple-cider vinegar, and now he’s gonna make turmeric tea. (editor’s note: Nisse is alive and healthy at present time) His playground is at nissegreenberg.com
In our second mini-episode, Asher, Julia, and Adam talk about the importance of listening to each other when working on stories.
