I was looking at the weekly box office compared to last year. Sure the summer has been bad, but how bad. Well I think the Cassandra's and Chicken Little's may be onto something. Over the last two months, the box office collapsed. It is off over 700 million dollars from last year. The bottom just dropped out. What does it mean? Where does the industry go from here. Can IT turn it around? I also walk through top 10 from this dismal weekend, worst in 16 years.

Not a very exciting weekend. Hitman's Bodyguard does an expected lows 20s. Not a break out hit, but whatever. Logan disappoints, which is too bad. Soderbergh tried something new, and it failed. Mostly low drops across the board. Spidey and Wonder Woman just won't give up. Detroit drops 70%, ouch. Limited releases Ingrid and Good Time don't pop off at art house theaters. Wide release looks messy at best.
