This week, the surfing world actually deliveredâfun, weird, and even a little heartwarming news. I know, Iâm shocked too.
𧱠First up: Mauiâs turning surf trash into literal treasure. A company called Surf Block Maui is recycling leftover EPS foam from surfboard shaping into actual building blocksâones being used in local homes, including wildfire rebuilds. Itâs genius, itâs sustainable, and itâs giving surfboard waste a second life that doesnât end in a landfill.
đ¶ Then we head to SoCal, where the Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon returns this September. Dogs on surfboards, costumes, lessons, and fundraising? Sign us (and our pups) up.
đ Over in Huntington Beach, 66 surfers piled onto a 42-foot surfboard and rode it for 12 seconds to set a new Guinness World Record. Honestly, itâs the most beautiful kind of chaos.
đ
And finally: Surfing Santas in New Jersey. Yes, Christmas in July is real. Yes, there were candy canes. And yes, it was for charity.
No celebrity PR updates hereâjust dogs, blocks, and holiday chaos on surfboards. Youâre welcome.
