🌊 Cynthia, a San Diego local, once taught herself to swim at 15 so she could become a lifeguard. Now at 45, she’s six months into surfing—and inspiring her daughter to paddle out too.

🌍 Camilla is a globe-trotting Italian surfer and surf videographer who found consistency—and love—through waves across Bali, Morocco, Portugal and beyond.

This week, the surfing world actually delivered—fun, weird, and even a little heartwarming news. I know, I’m shocked too.

🧱 First up: Maui’s turning surf trash into literal treasure. A company called Surf Block Maui is recycling leftover EPS foam from surfboard shaping into actual building blocks—ones being used in local homes, including wildfire rebuilds. It’s genius, it’s sustainable, and it’s giving surfboard waste a second life that doesn’t end in a landfill.

🐶 Then we head to SoCal, where the Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon returns this September. Dogs on surfboards, costumes, lessons, and fundraising? Sign us (and our pups) up.

🌊 Over in Huntington Beach, 66 surfers piled onto a 42-foot surfboard and rode it for 12 seconds to set a new Guinness World Record. Honestly, it’s the most beautiful kind of chaos.
