Lauren Hissrich, showrunner for The Witcher, suggested that Henry Cavill's departure from the series after its third season was influenced by his desire to commit to other roles, particularly Superman. Cavill announced his exit from The Witcher in October 2022, around the same time he confirmed his return as Superman. However, shortly after, James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios, leading to a reboot of Superman and Cavill ultimately not reprising the role[1]. While Cavill lost the Superman role, he has upcoming projects, including a Warhammer 40,000 series and Highlander[1].
