This week Joy and Laura are examining season 1 episode 6 “Skin”.
TRIGGER WARNING
This episode was a rough one and we do describe a detailed attack on a woman. We were both triggered ourselves and we also discuss this.
We discuss all the plot holes in this episode, seriously what was going on towards the end? Did anyone follow? Joy tells us why she hates Dean in this episode as well as some fascinating Easter eggs she found about the real Tucumcari and Bisbee. She also tells us that she has her very own doppelganger -is anyone surprised?

Join us for a special bonus episode where we invited our friend Karly Latham on to participate in the chaos.
Joy recounts her very own Bloody Mary story from her childhood. Karly, who is a medium, pulls cards to find out if Joy still has an attachment. Then we discuss the spooky things that have been happening since we started this podcast including EVPs in episodes!
Stay safe out there, have each other’s backs, and always keep fighting!
Special thanks to Karly for coming on and chatting with us!

This week Joy and Laura discuss season 1 episode 5 “Bloody Mary”.
We discuss our own experience with sleepover games, Joy talks about her own Bloody Mary experience and we consider the possible origins of the Bloody Mary urban legend.
Joy has another show Easter egg for us about Toledo, we discuss the effects trauma has on mental health and our own experiences with this, and we have WILDLY differing opinions about the scene where Dean punches out the police officers.
Editing Joy's note here:
I want to clarify that while it’s unspoken (because we knew this episode was going to be longer and so we needed to be somewhat brief when discussing different topics in this week’s show)
I just want to make it really clear that it should never matter how a girl dresses or speaks, we should always listen when she speaks out and her pain should never become a cultural joke.
I also want to note that I hope that everyone can see the parallel that I’m drawing between these unsolved cases, femicide statistics, as well as women listening to true crime in order to feel prepared in this world. We also, often, don’t want cold cases to be unsolved or the names of the women before us to just fade away. They lived and they matter and they deserved more from the world.
Don’t forget to email us your own Bloody Mary experiences or just childhood spooky stories.
Stay safe out there, have each other’s backs, and always keep fighting!
Special thanks to our friend Karly who has Executive Producer credit on this episode, she knows why and she's a star!

This week Joy and Laura are analysing season 1 episode 4 “Phantom Traveler”.
We didn’t think this was the best episode for many reasons that we will get into. We discuss how this episode is basically a remake of Final Destination, why the demon in this episode seems to be obsessed with bad puns, how cute Dean is with his homemade EMF reader, and Joy tells us some actual phantom traveler stories.

This week Joy and Laura examine season 1 episode 3 “Dead in the Water”.
We discuss horror movies this episode reminds us of, the objectification of women, whether Dean is really the bad boy he is being portrayed as, and why Sam is still being a whiny bitch. We also analyse how well the show portrays mental health issues.
Thirst trap counter: Joy 5 +one adorable trap! Laura 2.

This week Joy and Laura discuss season 1 episode 2 “Wendigo”. We talk about nods to Stephen King and the X-Files, the horrors of low-rise jeans, and if there is a parallel between Roy’s death and Mary and Jess’ deaths in the last episode. Joy sings home on the range at one point, and Laura questions why she is so attracted to grumpy Sam. Red flags anyone? We were a little sleep deprived and unhinged this episode, could you tell?!
Thirst trap counter: Joy 5, Laura 7!
