Today I share with you my last sermon as Senior Pastor. What a blessing it has been to serve you and to lead this church. This will not be a sad day, but a day of celebration because we have so much to be thankful for. What an honor to celebrate all who have come to faith, the difference our church has made in the world, and the bright future ahead. But in all that we celebrate, my greatest joy has been the privilege to tell the story of Jesus Christ.

Not everyone gets married or stays married. If you read marriage as a motif in scriptures, then it conveys something profound for all believers. Marriage is actually a very complex relationship. There are many dynamics that we simply cannot prepare for lifetime commitment. The truth is you were never meant to go it alone as a couple. God created marriage not just for fulfillment, but also for transformation. We should become better people when we are married. Sometimes, we choose to regress in our growth. There is hope and there is help through scripture, relational sciences and the church.

After more than a year of being told that we should stay at home away from others, many of us have settled into the unfamiliarity of loneliness and isolation. Even the church building has become a place where we have been encouraged to beware of getting too close to others. In fact, the church has always existed to be more than simply the place you go to on a Sunday morning for worship. The Church exists to be the people of God who live life together. Let’s uncover the many opportunities that we have to live this life together in Christian community.
