The Word to Wisdom

The Heart of the Gospel

This is a series about the gospel, the heart of the gospel.

When we think of the word Gospel, we think of many different things.  We might think of the word truth, or think of books in the bible, or a holy or moral life style, and more.  And while all those may be true to degree, they are not at the heart or essence of the gospel.

The gospel changes lives in an instant, from death to life.  The apostle Paul learned that the gospel "is the power of God unto salvation."  Romans 1:16

This series, on the Heart of the Gospel, reaches far deeper into what the gospel really is at it's heart, and, in turn, I pray that it opens up the eyes of our understanding, that we may know "what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us who believe." Eph. 1:19

In this episode we go into a deeper explanation of the parable of the Sower and the Seeds–looking into the four types of ground/heart in the parable.

Along with the first episode, this is a very important and foundational teaching. So much so that Jesus said:
"Do you not understand this parable? How then can you understand all the parables?" Mark 4:13.

Important verses to have as you listen: Mathew 13:18-23, Mark 4:13-20, Luke 8: 12-15, Proverbs 4: 5-7, 23

The Kingdom of God is Like… Sowing Seeds

In this first episode entitled, The Kingdom of God is Like…, I'm talking about understanding the value of God’s word and how the kingdom of God works in our lives. Using the parable of the Sower and the Seeds, this lesson depicts and creates a picture of how the kingdom of heaven works, especially concerning sowing the seeds of God's Word in our hearts if we desire a fruitful Christian life. Natural laws are used as examples of spiritual truths and laws.  Without understanding of this parable, Jesus said, "How can we understand all other parables?" Mark 4:13.  This is an important and foundational lesson.

Important verses to have as you listen: Mark 4:1-9, 13-20,  John 6:63

This episode entitled, Joy and Peace in Believing Part Two, is about how our level of believing is connected to our joy and peace in our Christian life.  Believing is a powerful force, and without it we won't fully realize the amazing a salvation we have, and we won't experience the joy and peace that has been given to us, that is rightfully ours to know.

This episode is a continuation of episode one, talking about God's Love for You.  I go into more depth in this episode bringing scriptures to show just how amazing our salvation really is.  I detail more of what actually happened on the cross and how important that is to us–showing that we have been set free from the dominion of the law, and we have been fully justified by faith in Jesus.  We now have an amazing inheritance as sons and daughters of God, all because of God's love for us and what Jesus did for us through the cross and His resurrection.
