South Sudanese Church Strengthened Through Trials

Two million people have been displaced in South Sudan Africa according to a 2017 report from US AidThe World Viewspoke toWilliam Levi president of Operation Nehemiah Missions showing how Christians have responded with the Gospel to this crisis

In March last year my wife and children and I went to South Sudan without a hope of where we were going to stay because most of the people where we were going to stay had left and two of the compounds were deserted But what we did was call upon people to pray we went there and rallied the pastors from the remnant who had not left the country and said We need to be on our knees We have seen what the nation tried to do trying to bring peace hereWe know we have to be on our knees in prayer And it was transformational

Levi went on to describe how they are seeing the fruit of that prayer meeting

When we went back this past November the governor of this district where were working came down into the county levelHe said Im not going back to the big capitol until I see restoration here He wanted to stop all the governments share in the responsibility apologizing for the sin that the government has committed and challenging the rebels to come and meet him halfway so that they could take responsibility for the crimes that they were involved with

Norwegian Authorities Remove Homeschooled Child

A Canadian Christian family living in Norway is crying out for help after Norways Child Welfare Services Barnevernet forcibly removed their son from their home over their decision to homeschool him after he suffered bullying at a public school

Terese Kristiansen posted a video to Facebook last week calling out for help in terror as police chased and tackled her 12-year-old son Kai who can also be heard screaming No No repeatedly

Eleven Iranian Members of Parliament visited Evin Prison this week investigating the abuse of prisoners while ignoring the Christians there

Evin Prison its a place where if you really want to investigate the abuse that is going on then you really have to look at the abuse of Christians in the prison because so many have gone through the doors and continue to be in prison there and their abuse they face is much worse than any other prisoners who are incarcerated there It was an opportunity if they were truly serious about wanting to find out about prison abuses but obviously that didnt happen

Evans also shared how these Christians suffer in prison and how you can pray for them

First with Christians who are still in prison what theyre experiencing it affects every part of who they are as a person and it takes a huge toll on them in so many different ways They come out very sick They come out just oppressed and they really struggle with depression Many of them just even struggle with lingering feelings of fear like the regime is still there still over their shoulder and the regime is We need to pray that they can have strength during these difficult times Pray for their health as they are often denied medical treatment

Why Evangelicals Back Trump

Tony Perkins President of the Family Research Council appeared on The Billy Hallowell Podcast to provide context for controversial remarks he made in an interview with Politicocom

After clarifying that he agreed to support Donald Trump when it came down to a choice between him and Hillary Clinton Perkins laid out what it would take for evangelicals to coalesce behind candidate Trump

One was that he would commit to pro-life judges He became the first Republican nominee to actually put out a list of what he called pro-life judges We said that he would have to pick a solid running mate that was a conservative had a record He picked Mike Pence And then third as one who helped write the party platform we said he couldnt mess with the platform trying to water it down What he actually did was he wrapped himself in the most conservative party platform ever

So in describing that I said You know evangelicals kind of gave him a mulligan They said Look we know your past We dont agree with it We dont like it Its reprehensible to us but were going to start fresh and work forward

So nothing has changed since the president took office In fact what hes done is hes kept his promises hes not been engaging in what is alleged to have happened in the past So new allegations are not going to change how evangelicals view the president unless were talking about behavior that is happening right now That was the context of that comment

Despite all of this Perkins said that evangelical leaders support for Trump isnt unconditional and that it really hinges on him keeping his promises and not falling into bad patterns of past behavior

How You Can Fight Oregon Euthanasia Bill

An Oregon euthanasia bill that failed to pass last year is being re-introduced as House Bill 4135 that would allow the caretakers of patients with mental illnesses to choose to starve them Right now these patients are still protected under the law except in limited situations
