The Writing Desk with E.G.

This week's interview was with the highly capable F.T. McKinstry who managed to write a book that had me begging for information about it by the end of the interview. Needless to say, she won the bid for information and I left desperate to read more. :)

This week's interview was with the intriguing Tora Moon, who threw an alien spaceship at her epic fantasy, used Sumerian spells in her urban fantasy, and explained the essential principles of writing as a business. Also, her book covers are gorgeous.

This week's author interview is with the hugely interesting Craig Welburn, author of the Ashen Levels (Book review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k90Cm...). And who has apparently written a book about a linguist, which I now must read!

This week, I interviewed the intriguing and knowledgeable Jamie Davis. He's a fantasy author that managed to turn medical questions into a book series about the supernatural and ambulances. Also, we talk about podcasts, connecting with other people and enlightening me on all things audiobooks!

Come and listen to the awesome MJ Vieira and I talk about her impressive number of projects (all of which I want to read), a bit about authors and social media, and something about socks. There were definitely socks mentioned...

This week's author interview is with the impressive Lee C Conley, who not only writes about fantasy Viking age zombie -- excuse me, "the dead" -- attacks, but teaches historical martial arts. His book, A Ritual of Bone, came out on the 17th of June and sounds like a terribly fascinating story about how a College accidentally started the apocalypse. Also, there might have been a cameo by my cat, the Queen of the Universe. (Because cats will listen to nobody...)

Special Author Interview! Matthew P Gilbert is launching his book, Dead God's Due today! If you are interested in fantasy, prophecies that no one knows how to solve, and the possible end of the world, do go check this book out. I just got my copy and am really excited to get to reading. Also, if you're keen on preparing for the zombie apocalypse, go have a talk with Matt. I am obviously not the one to prepare these things, because my idea of a plan is Walmart. I had a great time chatting with Matt about his book and about all things geeky.

I bring you this week's regularly scheduled technological adventure with Andy Peloquin! (Just kidding, it's really an author interview.) Andy is an epic fantasy author with oodles of books out about thieves, assassins and, soon, a collection of highly outnumbered warriors. He also has an impressive collection of weapons featured in his novel, of which I am rather jealous.

This week's interview was with the knowledgeable and intriguing Historical Fantasy author Assaph Mehr. He writes urban fantasy mysteries, except they're set in Ancient Rome. Need I say more?

Quick blurb from his book:  Apartment houses are standing abandoned, the tenants fleeing from horrific events and claiming the gods have cursed the buildings. Enter Felix the Fox: neither a traditional detective nor a competent magician – but something in between. Felix must now separate fact from superstition - a hard task in a world where the old gods still roam the earth. This is the second Story of Togas, Daggers and Magic - for lovers of Mysteries, Ancient Rome, and Urban Fantasy.

I interviewed the stunning L.L. Thomsen about her book series, writing process, and why most fantasy writers wish they had written Game of Thrones. Or, well, something like that.
