Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m your host Daryl Perry. No matter where you are on your weight loss journey, this podcast is for you. If you’ve been working at this for years or decades, or even if you’ve reached maintenance but still don’t like what you see in the mirror, my goal is to help you love the body you have and appreciate the person underneath.
In this episode, I take on two big topics that the fitness industry rarely handles well: imposter syndrome and body dysmorphia. Both are amplified by the way fitness marketing plays on our insecurities, and both can keep you stuck in a cycle of never feeling enough. I share how flipping the script on belief and action can help you shift your identity, and why building self-acceptance at every stage of your journey is essential.
We also dive into how body dysmorphia shows up even after hitting weight loss goals, why your body changing doesn’t change who you are, and how appreciating yourself now can take the edge off the mental back-and-forth. I also talk about the role of therapy, what it means to have a productive working relationship with a therapist, and why addressing the emotional side of fitness matters just as much as the practical side.
Whether you’re navigating food, exercise, or self-image struggles, I’ve got daily resources to help you reinforce your choice to live from the inside/out. This podcast and the YLF Daily Email give you reminders and actions that make the process more sustainable. And if you need more guidance, The YLF Experience is here to walk with you every step of the way.

Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast, hosted by Daryl Perry. If you’ve been on a weight loss journey for years, maybe even decades, this podcast is for you. If you’ve reached maintenance and hit goals but still struggle with how you see yourself, this podcast is also for you. My goal is to help you love and appreciate the body you have and the person underneath at every stage of your journey.
This episode is all about consistency, what it really means, and how to build it. True consistency isn’t about being perfect every day. It’s about building the skill over time in a way that fits your preferences. Whether it’s food or exercise, you can start with what you’re willing and able to do. From there, we build the foundation that makes long-term success possible.
We also tackle food triggers and why eating the foods you’ve labeled as “off-limits” can actually take the edge off the mental back-and-forth. When you remove the finish line and stop chasing quick results, you free yourself to build an active lifestyle that feels calm, sustainable, and enjoyable.
The YLF philosophy is about connecting with yourself, leading with compassion, and living from the inside/out. Through this podcast and the daily email, I’ve got you covered every single day with reminders and action steps that reinforce the choice to live differently.

Episode Description
In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I am talking directly to those of you who have been on a weight loss journey for years, maybe decades. You might be in the middle of it, or maybe you’ve reached maintenance and realized that even with all the progress you’ve made, you still don’t feel the way you thought you would when you look in the mirror.
This conversation is about shifting your focus to the inside/out approach to health and fitness. Instead of chasing changes based on insecurity, it’s about building a mindset and belief system that drives your actions from a place of appreciation and ownership. I share my own experience living with cerebral palsy and how it forced me to reinforce this perspective every single day, no matter what physical changes came with weight loss or strength building.
You are the architect of your own life. You know what works for you, and you don’t need the fitness industry telling you that you don’t. This episode is about recognizing your responsibility, appreciating who you are, and realizing that you already have what it takes to build the life and body you want. When you embrace this belief, you stop waiting for the missing piece and start reinforcing the truth that you are already enough.

I built this show for those of us who have been at this for years. Maybe you are still working toward a goal, maybe you hit the goal and expected to feel different. If you are proud of the results yet still feel a mental tug of war, you are in the right place. We take an inside/out approach, connect with ourselves first, then let that guide our actions.
I am a fitness professional and a marketer, and I also live with cerebral palsy. No matter what I weigh or how strong I get, my body looks and functions differently. That is why I choose self connection first. You can choose it too, then reinforce it daily. This podcast helps you do that.
We make fitness fit your real life. Instead of cramming your life into a program, we start with preferences. Enjoy the foods you like while learning how to add more fruits and vegetables. Diffuse trigger foods by removing the off limits label. Build workouts from what you are willing and able to do. Progress comes from a plan that matches your life, not from forcing a list.
Give me ten minutes a day. Listen here in the morning. Read the action focused daily email in the afternoon. Use the prompts, try the activity, or simply take the one idea that helps you today. If you want more guidance, join The YLF Experience. We will keep building a plan that fits your life, one choice at a time.

Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast. I am your host, Daryl Perry, and this space is for anyone who has been on a weight loss journey. Whether you’ve been working at this for a couple of years, a couple of decades, or you’ve been on and off, this podcast is here to support you. It’s also for those who have reached maintenance but still struggle when looking in the mirror.
In this episode, I dive into the inside/out approach and why choosing who you want to be first, before taking action, is the most powerful shift you can make. The fitness industry often positions weight loss as the ultimate goal, but the truth is, results are a byproduct of your mindset and daily actions. You can’t control the timeline of your results, but you can control how you show up and what actions you take.
I share how creating a calm and deliberate mindset helps you quiet the mental chatter, pull yourself back when emotions take over, and move forward with clarity. It’s not about being calm 100 percent of the time. It’s about giving yourself permission to reset and return to that headspace as often as possible.
You’ll also hear me introduce the concept of cosplaying your thoughts. This includes sitting in silence to observe them, journaling to organize them, speaking affirmations to yourself in the mirror, and playing by giving yourself ten minutes a day to do something enjoyable. These small daily practices help you sort through and reshape your internal dialogue.
Ultimately, I encourage everyone to consider therapy as a long-term support system, but exercises like this give you a place to start. If you want to work on this at your own pace, subscribe to this podcast and sign up for the Daily Email. That’s about ten minutes a day to build structure and reinforcement. If you want more personalized guidance, join The YLF Experience, where I provide direct coaching and accountability with an approach unlike anything else in the industry.

Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast. I’m Daryl Perry, and this podcast is for anyone navigating a weight loss journey or maintaining their results. Whether you’ve been on this path for a few years or a few decades, whether you’ve been consistent or on and off, this space is for you.
In today’s episode, I talk about what really drives lasting change. The industry teaches us to focus on appearance first, hoping that how we look will shift how we feel. I believe it works the other way. Fitness is an inside/out process. You decide who you are first, then use daily actions to reinforce that belief.
I share how to flip the script on negative self-talk and start building confidence from within. Instead of waiting until you hit a goal weight to feel capable, you can decide right now that you belong. Your actions then become reinforcement, not the starting point.
We also dig into the complicated history many of us have with dieting, body image, and outside commentary. The truth is that untangling this takes time, but once you decide to connect with yourself first, you can rewrite your entire story.
If you want to do this at your own pace, start by giving me 10 minutes a day between this podcast and the Daily Email. Those resources are designed to help you build structure and momentum. If you want more personalized support, you can join The YLF Experience, where I walk alongside you with coaching, accountability, and a framework that’s unlike anything else in the industry.
Your journey starts with a choice. Decide who you want to be, then reinforce it each day.

In this episode I welcome you to a space that is built for lifelong dieters, maintainers, and anyone who has looked in the mirror and not liked what or who they see. This podcast is my answer to an industry that markets against our insecurities. I bring an inside/out approach that I have had to live myself. I am a fitness professional with a long background in marketing, and I also live with cerebral palsy. No matter how much muscle I build or how lean I get, I have learned to appreciate and love my body from the inside/out, and I want to help you do the same.
Today we talk about owning your story. All of it. The choices you would repeat and the ones you might change. If there are chapters you wish were different, own them, learn from them, and write the next page now. The goal is not to run from yourself with more tasks and more hustle. It is to build a calm, deliberate life where your actions align with who you are and what you value.
Your eating and exercise plan will evolve for decades. So will your mindset. Give yourself permission to practice self appreciation while you work. If you regret something, address it and move forward. If you have spent years waiting to like yourself after you hit a number, choose to value yourself today. This is the foundation for sustainable progress.
If you want a simple daily structure, subscribe to this podcast and join the daily email. Ten minutes a day will reinforce your actions and your identity. If you want more guidance, join The YLF Experience. I would love to help you build a plan you can live with.

Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast. I am your host, Daryl Perry, and this podcast is for anyone who has been on a weight loss journey for years, maybe even decades. Whether you have been consistent or have started and stopped countless times, this is for you. It is also for those who are in maintenance, have hit their goals, but still look in the mirror and struggle with what or who they see.
The truth is the fitness industry often markets against our insecurities, and that is why I share an inside/out approach. This is not about chasing an aesthetic or thinking a certain look will finally bring happiness. It is about connecting with yourself, appreciating who you are, and reinforcing that every single day.
In this episode, I talk about why fitness is more than just workouts and diets. Yes, we need to eat well and stay active, but those habits can also be a springboard into other areas of life. The confidence and consistency you build here can carry over into your career, relationships, and personal growth. I have seen it happen for clients, and I have lived it myself.
I also share my perspective as someone with cerebral palsy, a physical disability that impacts most of my body. No matter how much weight I lose or muscle I gain, I will live with it every day. That experience has taught me the importance of appreciating myself as I am. This is not a “if I can do it, you can do it” message. This is a reminder that tearing yourself down has never worked, so why not choose to build yourself up instead?
You only need about ten minutes a day to reinforce this mindset. Subscribe to the podcast and sign up for the daily email, and you will have the tools to live this approach at your own pace. If you are ready for more guidance, you can join The YLF Experience. It is my answer to what is right and wrong in the fitness industry today, and it is unlike anything you have tried before. With phase one pricing and a money back guarantee, now is the time to join.

Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast. I am Daryl Perry, and this podcast is for anyone who has been on a weight loss journey for years, maybe even decades. Whether it has been a continual effort or an on and off cycle of starting and restarting, this show is for you. It is also for those of you who have lost the weight but still struggle with what or who you see in the mirror.
What I share here is an inside/out approach to health, fitness, and weight loss. Instead of chasing a goal weight or body type to finally feel happy, this approach focuses on connecting with yourself, appreciating who you are, and reinforcing that choice every day. The fitness industry often markets against our insecurities. I want to change that conversation.
In this episode, I talk about the idea of “restarting.” For many, it feels like we are always beginning again, but the truth is you have been building experience all along. Every diet, every workout plan, every attempt has taught you something. The real question is, what have you learned, and what do you actually enjoy? Because when you build around your preferences, consistency becomes easier, and consistency is the skill that leads to sustainable results.
Your life responsibilities, your preferences, and your willingness matter more than any one-size-fits-all program. Fitness should not consume your entire life. It should be a springboard that fits into your life. That is why I encourage you to look at what you enjoy, what you are willing and able to do, and start there. From that foundation, you can experiment with new programs or tools, but you will always have something solid to return to.
If you want to apply this at your own pace, subscribe to this podcast and sign up for the daily email. That gives you about ten minutes a day to reinforce this mindset. If you are looking for more direct guidance, join The YLF Experience. This program is my answer to everything good, bad, and in between about the fitness industry in 2025. With phase one pricing and a money back guarantee, this is the best time to join.
