Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast. I am Daryl Perry, and this show is for anyone who has been on a weight loss journey for years, maybe even decades, whether it has been a consistent pursuit or an on and off cycle. It is also for those of you who have reached maintenance but still do not like what or who you see in the mirror.

Here we take an inside/out approach to health, fitness, and weight loss. That means untangling the emotional mess we have been conditioned to carry, learning to connect with ourselves, and building appreciation for our bodies no matter where we are in the process. This is not about chasing an aesthetic goal to finally feel happy, but about changing the way we think and live.

In this episode, I dive into what happens when life goes sideways for longer stretches. Yesterday we talked about curveballs that throw off a single day. Today we are talking about injuries, vacations, or extended periods where eating and exercise routines are disrupted. These times are frustrating, but they are also opportunities. They give us a chance to reassess what showing up really looks like, to reconnect with ourselves, and to strengthen the habits that go beyond workouts and meals.

I share how I am adjusting my own approach as I recover from an injury, shifting from gym sessions back to chair yoga, non-weight bearing mobility, and functional upper body workouts. I also talk about how meal timing has changed for me during this season, and how using the “cosplay” elements—collecting, organizing, speaking, and playing—has helped me stay grounded and connected while healing.

The key is remembering that setbacks and sideways seasons are part of life. Instead of fighting them or forcing yourself through them, use them as opportunities to observe, reconnect, and rebuild your foundation. That foundation, built on your preferences and willingness, is what carries you forward in both weight loss and maintenance.

If you want to reinforce this mindset daily at your own pace, subscribe to this podcast and sign up for the daily email. That is about ten minutes a day of actionable reinforcement. If you are ready for more structured guidance, join The YLF Experience. It is my evolving answer to what is both good and bad in the fitness space in 2025, and right now phase one pricing with a money back guarantee makes it the best time to join.

Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast. I am Daryl Perry, and this show is for anyone who has been on a weight loss journey for years, decades, or even most of their life. It is also for those of you who have lost weight but still find yourself struggling with the reflection you see in the mirror.

In this episode, I talk about setbacks and curveballs. Life does not always go according to plan, especially when it comes to eating, exercise, and managing your day. Some curveballs are small, like a busy day that keeps you from following through. Others are bigger, lasting for weeks or months. Today I focus on the daily curveballs and the choices you can make when plans do not unfold as expected.

Sometimes you can adjust your schedule and keep things going. Other times it makes more sense to prioritize a few actions and accept that you will not do it all. And some days, the best choice for your long term headspace is to set fitness goals aside and start fresh tomorrow. The important thing is that you are the one making the decision. You own it, and you move forward.

So much of fitness and weight loss looks the same from the outside. The difference comes from what drives you inside. With an inside/out approach, you focus on connecting with yourself and shaping your thought process instead of letting insecurities and external pressures control the path. When you own your choices, even setbacks can feel empowering.

If you want to apply this at your own pace, subscribe to this podcast and sign up for the daily email. That gives you ten minutes a day to reinforce this mindset and build a forever active lifestyle. If you are looking for more guidance, you can join The YLF Experience. It is my answer to everything in the fitness industry in 2025, both the good and the bad, and it is unlike anything else you have tried before. With phase one pricing and a money back guarantee, this is the best time to join.

Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast. I am Daryl Perry, and this podcast is for anyone who has been navigating a weight loss journey for years, decades, or even most of their life. It is also for those of you who thought you would finally feel better once you lost the weight, only to realize that looking in the mirror still brings challenges.

Here, we talk about taking an inside/out approach to health and fitness. That means learning to connect with yourself, building self-appreciation, and working through the thoughts and stories tied to food, exercise, and body image. This is not about finger pointing or quick fixes. It is about learning how to enjoy the process by building around your preferences and focusing on what you are willing and able to do.

In this episode, I share details about the YLF Framework. This framework is designed to help you set and execute goals at a calm and deliberate pace. It focuses on daily and weekly structure without turning every goal into a stretch goal. By practicing consistency in this way, you create space to exceed your goals naturally. The framework also provides tools for tracking progress beyond the scale, including progress photos, waist measurements, and other markers that help you see the full picture of your efforts.

If you are taking the self-paced route, you can subscribe to this podcast and sign up for the daily email. That way you receive reminders and actionable prompts each week for setting goals on Sundays, making adjustments on Wednesdays, and reflecting on Saturdays. If you are looking for more structured guidance and ongoing support, you can join The YLF Experience. This is my answer to what is both right and wrong in the fitness industry today, and when you sign up during phase one, you are locked into the lowest price for as long as you remain in the program.

At the end of the day, the goal is not to let the industry market against your insecurities, but to change the way you think about health, fitness, and yourself. You deserve to enjoy this process, and with the right foundation, you can build a forever active lifestyle that fits your life.

Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast. I am your host, Daryl Perry, and this podcast is for anyone who has been on and off a weight loss journey for years, maybe even decades. It is also for those who are past the weight loss stage but still struggle with what they see in the mirror.

Here we take an inside/out approach to fitness and health. Instead of chasing a certain look or thinking that appearance alone will finally make us feel better, we connect with ourselves and untangle the stories we carry about food, exercise, and body image. We build appreciation for who we are at every stage while moving at a calm, deliberate pace.

Eating, exercising, managing stress, and living day-to-day are things you will be doing for the rest of your life. It is not about finger wagging or being told what you “should” enjoy. It is about looking back at what you already like or at least what you are willing and able to do. That becomes your foundation. When new fitness trends or tools come along, you can decide if they add to your foundation. If they don’t, you return to what works for you.

Your mindset plays just as big a role as your actions. Seeing victories everywhere is what keeps you moving forward. It does not have to be huge. It could be getting better sleep, waking up earlier, or simply feeling calmer. Wins like these, big or small, matter more than you realize.

In this episode, I also share two ways to apply this approach through Your Level Fitness. The self-paced option is to subscribe to this podcast and sign up for the daily email, which together give you ten minutes a day of reinforcement and action steps. If you want more personalized guidance, you can join The YLF Experience. This program addresses what is missing in the fitness space today, and when you join now, you are locked into the phase one pricing for as long as you are in the program.

Thank you for listening. Remember to look for your victories and let me know what they are.

Welcome to The Your Level Fitness Podcast. I am Daryl Perry, and this show is for anyone who has spent years or even decades navigating the ups and downs of a weight loss journey. What we focus on here is building a forever active lifestyle by taking an inside/out approach.

So much of the fitness industry has marketed against your insecurities, convincing you that once you hit a certain goal you will finally feel better about yourself. Many of us have chased those promises for most of our lives. What I want for you is different. I want you to actually enjoy this process, not just talk yourself into it. Eating well, exercising, and staying active are fundamental to quality of life. They matter, and you deserve to experience them in a way that feels doable and fulfilling.

If you are listening to this, it is important to remember just how resilient you are. Even when you felt like giving up, you came back. You have continued to show up for yourself despite everything life has thrown at you. That resilience is the foundation for everything moving forward.

In this episode, I talk about how to quiet the noise around weight loss, fitness trends, and should-do lists by building on your own preferences. When you create a foundation around the things you actually enjoy or are at least willing and able to do, consistency becomes easier. And consistency is not just something you either have or you don’t. It is a skill you can strengthen by showing up again and again.

I also walk you through the two ways to apply this approach with Your Level Fitness. If you want a self-paced process, listen daily to this podcast and subscribe to the daily email. That’s about ten minutes a day to reinforce your inside/out approach. If you are looking for individualized guidance, you can join The YLF Experience, where I take everything I have learned from decades in fitness, years in marketing, and my personal journey, and apply it to help you navigate the current fitness landscape in a way that fits your life.

Thank you for listening, and I look forward to talking with you again tomorrow.

    Episode Description

Today I am asking you to look at progress differently. The scale moving is a byproduct. It is not the goal. You cannot dial up a twenty pound program on a timeline and expect your body to follow a script. What you can control are your actions and the environment you build around them. When you focus on repeatable actions, your body moves at its own pace and the pressure drops.

We are not robots. We have emotions and that is a good thing. Most of our food patterns are tied to how we feel. Ignoring that is why short term diets rarely turn into a lifestyle. So we honor what is true. We call out cravings and traditions. We notice the joy of a tailgate or a family potluck. We learn to observe thoughts without judgment, then redirect when needed. That is the inside/out work.

From there we keep the plan simple. Choose movement you are willing and able to do. Choose foods you enjoy, then add water and produce to your main meals. As habits settle in, your plate shifts without drama. Big picture first, details second. The weight follows the work.

If you want to build this in real life, I would love to help. Join The YLF Experience and we will create the framework that fits you and grows with you.

    Episode Description

In this episode we get practical about consistency and why it becomes much easier when it is built around your preferences. You already have rhythms in your life. Some things happen daily. Some happen weekly or monthly. Fitness can work the same way when you stop forcing rules that do not fit and start from what you are willing and able to do.
We walk through a simple step path for food. Step one is eating what you actually enjoy while observing how it feels. Step two is adding water at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and adding a serving of produce with those meals. Over time your plate naturally shifts. The nutrient dense foods crowd things in, and other items fall off without drama.
Movement follows the same idea. Choose activities you enjoy so there is less mental tug of war. If you like structured workouts, great. If you prefer active play or short sessions, that counts. Consistency here does not mean seven perfect days. It means almost daily actions that fit real life.
This is the inside/out approach. Big picture first. Details that support your life. Progress that lasts because it feels like you.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I talk about why it is so important to take the deadline away from your weight loss and fitness goals. Deadlines often create unnecessary pressure, whether it is trying to lose a certain amount of weight for an event, fitting into a specific outfit, or hitting a target by summer. While deadlines can sometimes have their place, they should never come before building your foundation.

Your foundation is the set of preferences and choices you consistently come back to, especially when life gets off track. For eating, that might mean the comfort foods you have always craved, even if they seem far from “optimal.” For exercise, it is about the activities you naturally enjoy and gravitate toward. Over time, those preferences evolve, and you find balance without having to force yourself into rigid rules.

When we remove deadlines, we give ourselves the space to observe, test, and learn from our choices. We see what works, what does not, and what truly fits into our lives long term. This creates a foundation strong enough to return to whenever things go sideways. From there, short term goals or projects can be layered in if you choose, but the foundation remains your steady guide.

Ultimately, this process is about reinforcing habits and mindsets that support not just physical health but also your mental and emotional well-being. Taking deadlines off the table takes the pressure away and helps you focus on building a sustainable, calm, deliberate approach to your health for the rest of your life.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I talk about one of the most important skills you can develop on your weight loss and fitness journey, pacing yourself. Burnout is real. Whether it’s physical from pushing too hard in your workouts or mental from grinding day after day, many of us reach the point where we’re forcing ourselves forward when our body and mind are telling us to slow down.

Learning to set a sustainable pace matters. You’ve likely been through enough cycles of overdoing it to know when the warning signs show up. The key is listening to those signs. If you feel like you might be pushing too hard, chances are you are. The best move in that moment is to step back, take a break, and trust yourself to know when to return.

This approach is very different from the “push harder” message we often hear in fitness. Social media might glorify the grind, but in real life, showing up consistently for the long haul is what truly matters. The goal is not perfection, it’s building a forever active lifestyle where you can confidently show up for your next workout, your next meal, and your next choice.

When you follow your intuition and respect your limits, you prevent burnout and set yourself up for sustainable success. Pace really does matter, and the sooner you embrace it, the stronger and steadier your journey will become.
