The Zelda Cast

Get ready for the fifth annual Musical March Madness! As we do every year, The Zelda Cast goes and picks our favorite songs of the tournament one by one until we arrive at a winner! Joined by our resident frenemy Corey Richmond, the crew takes some dark horses far, talks about what different pieces of music mean to them, and crown a new winner of the tournament! Make sure that you get in on the action and fill out a prediction of your own to win some prizes! Remember - it's a popularity contest, so pick who you think will win, not necessarily who you would vote for!

The contest starts on the 15th, so get your picks in before then! Good luck to all!

With the recent addition of Game Boy Advance games to Nintendo Switch Online, there are a ton of people checking out arguably the most underrated Zelda game for either the first time or first time a long time: The Minish Cap! One of Andy's favorite Zelda games, The Minish Cap was the one game Alasyn hadn't played in forever, so after finishing, the gang get together to dive deep into the charming art style of the game, its great usage of items, how the Kinstone quest could have been improved, whether Vaati is a great villain our not, the lore behind the Four Sword, the mechanics of the world-within-a-world, and so much more!

Come hang out with us as we talk Minish Cap, sprinkle in some Twilight Princess, and reveal some new Zelda Cast merch!

Al has taken over the show, and while we continue to wait for more Zelda news, we thought it would be fun to talk about something a little different this week. February has been a big month for Nintendo fans, and that included the grand opening of the highly anticipated Nintendo-themed amusement park, Super Nintendo World! A few members of the ZD staff were able to visit the park this past week, so we wanted to bring a couple of them onto the show and hear their thoughts on the experience while it was still fresh in their minds.

How was the overall atmosphere and immersion of the park? What about the rides? Were there any notable Easter Eggs? Come listen as Rod Lloyd and Alex Weber answer all these questions and more!

We're back this week to discuss your latest theories, thoughts, and questions-- still so, so many questions!-- following  Nintendo's latest Direct and trailer for the upcoming title. What is all this green stuff? Is it good, or is it like Malice? Is Zelda really going to die? Will the "tears" help us rebuild the Master Sword, or will they be used to upgrade Link's new abilities? Join us as we dive head first into all these questions and more!

We've come down (a bit) from the highs of last weeks Nintendo Direct, and now that our brains are functioning again, we're ready to analyze the heck out of the newest Tears of the Kingdom trailer! Come break it down with us as we discuss voice acting, Ganondorf, Redeads, Breath of the Wild's Hyrule, Collectors Editions, amiibo, the green energy stuff, our theories on what's going on with Zelda, who "HIM" could refer to, what could replace Shrines, John Deere tractors, and more! Plus, the million dollar question - is this it? Or is Nintendo still holding back something monumental?

All this, PLUS some Metroid Prime Remastered talk, NSO discussion, and a quick bit on The Last of Us! Come hang!

Wow. Wowowow. THAT, my friends, was a Nintendo Direct for the ages. Despite Nintendo arguably holding back yet again on Tears of the Kingdom, there was no doubt that the trailer we saw for the game was by far the meatiest one yet. Add in the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance NSO news, with The Minish Cap and Link's Awakening DX being playable RIGHT NOW with the Oracles not far behind it, and there was more Zelda news in this 40 minutes than there has been in seemingly years! Add in Metroid Prime Remastered, Pikmin 4, and more games, and this might have been the greatest Nintendo Direct ever!

If you missed Andy and Al's reactions and thoughts live, come relive them now, and make sure to hang with us this weekend as we break down all the trailers frame by frame!

Open world games have come a long way in the last few years, and with Tears of the Kingdom approaching, the Cast figured it was a good time to play some contemporary titles to see what the upcoming Zelda game might learn from those titles. Joined by Rod Lloyd for this episode, the gang discuss Elden Ring and Horizon Zero Dawn and lay out what they like about those games, what they dislike, and what they would like to see - or NOT see - applied from those games to Tears of the Kingdom!

Come hang out and weigh in on some of the hot takes thrown out about Soulsborne games, whether Horizon's story is one of the best ever, and if Andy should keep playing Elden Ring or not!
