It's the most magical time of the year: E3! This year promises to be an absolutely loaded show, with Luigi's Mansion 3, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Link's Awakening, Fire Emblem Three Houses, and more all sure to make their presences felt during the Nintendo Direct. But of course, the funnest part of the whole thing is trying to predict what the Big N is going to do! So with that being said, we now present you the 2nd annual Champions' Cast E3 Prediction Showdown! Let's talk how it works!
The Rules of Engagement
We each have 9 Predictions;
5 Predictions in the "Could Probably Happen" category - these picks are worth 1 point if correct.
3 Predictions in the "Super Unlikely But Not Impossible" category - these picks are worth 3 points each if correct.
1 Prediction in the "WTF Are You Smoking?" category - this pick is worth a whopping 12 points
The Bet
So last year, Andy handily destroyed Taylor and emerged victorious, BUT Taylor never followed through and steamed Final Fantasy IX as the terms dictated he would. So this year - it's Double or Nothing. If Taylor wins, is debt is paid. If he loses... WE WANT YOUR HELP deciding what humiliating thing he should have to do in addition to playing FFIX! Let us know in the comments below!
Watch E3 With Us Live on June 11th!
Stay tuned for more details in a separate post soon, but get ready, cause we'll be streaming Nintendo's E3 with a pre- and post-show over on Zelda Dungeon Twitch! In the meantime, MAKE SURE you take a listen to our official predictions! You won't wanna miss this show!
Welcome back to the Cast! It's Side Quest week over here at Zelda Dungeon, so of course that means this show is all about our favorite optional activities in the Zelda series. Eventide Island, Kinstones, the Item Check girl, and of course, Anju and Kafei. It's all here! We of course want to know what your favorite side quests are, so let us know!
This is a fun episode you won't want to miss, and get ready because next week is Andy vs Taylor II: Predicting Nintendo's E3!
It's Q&A time this week as Andy and Taylor go ahead and answer 20 Debatable questions. Do Shrines do enough to replace dungeons? What if there were a female version of Ganondorf? What song should would we choose to replace the main theme if we had to pick? Is it too late for Impa in Smash? Why does Andy think the Zelda timeline is so lame!?
We have all this, plus some quick thoughts on Detective Pikachu! Come in and enjoy the listen!
Andy makes a triumphant return to the show this week and doesn't waste any time getting down to business, asking where the heck Cadence of Hyrule has been since it's announcement and taking Taylor through a list of dream Zelda spinoffs. Pikmin with Cucco's? Assassin's Creed with Sheikah? YES PLEASE!
As if that wasn't enough, to celebrate the Game Boy's 30th birthday, the lads count down their top ten OG GB games ever. Link's Awakening, Pokemon, Metroid II, and more! Plus, we give a shout out to the one and only Gary Oak.
Make sure you don't miss this episode! It's a ton of fun!
After (un)comfortably deep diving into Tingle’s Rosey Rupeeland last week, Andy decided to briefly escape the country, so Taylor sets out to find Kevin to help him discuss today’s topics. Breath of the Wild has continued its inexorable ride with a VR element using Nintendo Labo while Kevin and Taylor debate whether VR is a good idea. The game also gets an update that improves the load time of Shrines, which of course leads to the Champions’ thinking about speedrunning!
It wouldn’t be Champions’ Cast episode if we didn’t get caught up in the hype of a certain major movie to be released last week and to coincide with this, we’re playing the role of casting directors and work out which Zelda characters could best play Avengers heroes! Ever wonder what Zelda characters might look like in a tabletop RPG session? Kevin & Taylor have put some serious thought into it and we lay out some demands for what we want to see in Nintendo’s ever expanding non-video game Zelda selection.
It’s a jam packed episode this week so don’t miss it!
