Good Evenin’,all

Welcome Back To The Future, this month with a big nod to the past. Please join us for #49 aka the ‘All Rufige Kru Mix’.

Welcome to the ICON Series.

So what’s going on? Well.. For this month’s podcast we’ve decided to give you a very special treat. Following on from our ‘All Ivy Lab Mix’ last year we have looked at another one of our biggest influences!

We have been playing music from the Rufige Kru since the early 90’s right the way through to this year’s SCAR remix of Darkrider. Those that listened will know that it helped secure the title of best label for Metalheadz in last month’s label battle (#48).

So why?.. This music has a style within itself, a sense of tone, edge and feel that has lasted since then. A sound that was ahead of its time in 1992 and still at the sharp end (or Razors Edge : ) of the scene in 2016.

When putting this mix together you get that consistent quality, percussive energy and bass.. Oh.. so much bass.

So here it is our opus, tribute and love letter to Rufige Kru aka Goldie aka Clifford Joseph Price, MBE.

Thanks for the music, please keep it coming.

Next month we are back with a bang! It’s show #50 and it’s going to full of new music with all the usual madness, fun and games.

A huge shout to DNBE and Tommy for all of the support, forever in your debt. Check out the new music coming from DNBE including their amazing 4 track EP.. https://soundcloud.com/drumandbassexpress

Enjoy.

Well, since we recorded this England have come out of the EU and the Euros.. But on this night, this special night, we were unaware of the seismic shifts that lay ahead..

On this night, we had a battle of our own….

So, in the spirit of making our birthday shows a little different, we did things.. Differently.

Looking back though the track lists for the last 4 years we have found we play 4 labels more than any other... Kasra’s Critical, Goldie’s Metalheadz, Ant TC1’s Dispatch and Break’s Symmetry.

Inspired by a YouTube clip of Kenny Ken, Roller Express 94’ beating rap in the Jungle Sound clash Final!! Evolve picked his best Metalheadz and Dispatch tracks to pitch against my Critical and Symmetry.. All we needed were some judges..

Welcomed to the studio for the night was Dave ‘Junglist Soldier’ Yanetski, ‘the amazing’ KC, Marcus ‘Brakkers’ Brackley and head judge and host Wrekka (who tends to Wrek it)!!!

Beer got drunk, spillages happened, fans fell over and Evolve papped us all, oh. And the Back to the Future Podcast aka #48 aka our 4th Birthday Show appeared blinking into the light..

Enjoy / share / make a wish

Well were taking it up a notch again this month with 2 killer mixes from us. Evolve's going deep, bringing some jungle vibes (and just a little bit of Spectrasoul). I’ve tried to pick-up the whole 360 of drum and bass in Spring 2016, everything from Phace to Random Movement.

We have a beautiful classic chosen by friend of the show https://soundcloud.com/dj-proper-ganda, aka Mark Stewart from Adelaide in Australia.. and he’s picked one of my faves.. good taste!

Course there’s some shouts too.. a couple of closers and these…

Into another new year with us and our Back to the Future Podcast. This month we are up to show #44. Happy New Year one and all and hoping all your Christmas dreams came true.

A huge thanks to you all for the support in 2015. It really makes it worthwhile when we see the plays and downloads many thanks! Stay with us as we're going bigger and better this year!

Massive thanks to MC Wrekka for hosting our Christmas special last month, bought a whole new dimension to the show.. Will be back in a few shows time!

As for the show itself, it's a new year but the same format. 2 mixes of all things drum & bass, from around the globe and back again and everywhere in between.

This month, Evolve's going in with a weighty amount of Enei and selected some huge tracks from his new LP, Rituals. I'm going in with a real mix of tracks from around the scene. Though digging a bit deeper, we often buy twice as much music as we play for the podcast and some tracks slip through the net, so I’ve gone back and found some.

We got the first of our listener picks as a classic track, personally selected by our New Zealand family.. Much love and respect to Ayden Smith and the lovely Emma. Of course the shouts and some closers before that though..

Give us a like at..

Well what a fantastic year that’s been. We have been thoroughly spoilt with the quality of releases this year. We’ve had some amazing guest mixes, some real class in the way of the Classics and the BTTF family continues to grow.. Welcome one and all.

This month we have some treats for you.. First up our Top 10 of the year, a ‘highly scientific’ system used to work out the best tracks we played this year (we’ve counted them : /. We let you know the labels we’ve played most and our favourite artists too. As if that’s not enough though…

We are joined by the legendary MC Wrekka. An artist we have worked with in the past and are honoured to have on board for this show. Adding a completely different energy to our sets and getting the studio hyped!!

KC and Dave Y also in for the party.. So expect some background noise!!

There’s been a lot of fuss made this month about the 21st October, with good reason. Well we’ve been taking you Back to the Future for over 3 years, each and every month and this month is no different.

In association with our good friends at Drum and Bass Express we bring another bumper batch of beats to bounce to. A month dominated by Break and his new LP, Simpler Times and the fantastic 206 LP from Quadrant, Kid Hops & Iris.

Expect mixes from both of us a classic and some shouts.. just the usual fare.
