In this fantastic episode, Selah talks with JJ Jones, a self-described California raised, Hard-of-Hearing, Queer, Multiracial BIPOC/Latinx, Two Spirit Sober Drag Slaylien whose drag persona is Mudd. JJ shares on their experience playing Dr. Frankenfurter in Sac State's 2021 production of Rocky Horror Picture Show, their creative process, some of their favorite art pieces/forms, how their intersectioning identities play into their creativity, the power of creativity, making the ancestors proud and more. This episode (which is mostly bad quality audio due to the mics not being plugged in right(I was a baby podcaster when this was recorded leave me alone)) also includes a particularly hilarious moment where Selah hands JJ a mic, as if that will, in fact, do something. Selah and JJ close this episode off by sharing songs and artists that resonate with the discussion (Selah talks about Jon Batiste- shocker).

In this episode, Selah interviews Simran Sethi, a multimedia journalist, academic and author whose work deals with food, culture, science, sustainability and much more. They talk about Sethi's book titled "Bread, Wine, Chocolate: The Slow Loss of Foods We Love" and how the loss of agrobiodiversity affects young people and their future. What do we do when the world's eyes feel a little too big? We start out this episode with a light, fun story told by Selah's grandma. Usually these elder intro stories will be related to the topic, but you try asking old people about the fear of being perceived! After the story, Selah and Luke get right into it by sharing their personal experiences with this fear of being perceived, and discussing why they think it's not really something that is being talked about/ studied. They delve into the different situations and pressures that lead many young people to developing this fear. Luke finishes the convo off with some stellar advice on how to deal with this fear and help others going through the same thing. To end the episode, Luke and Selah share some songs that relate to the topic.
