  • "It Always Gets Better": Tales Of A Young Mother With Edna Mensah

“The natural state of motherhood is unselfishness. When you become a mother, you are no longer the center of your own universe. You relinquish that position to your children.” —Jessica Lange

In this episode, Edna shares her journey as a young mother and talks about how tough the journey gets at times but is inspired by the words of Eno Quagraine who said "it always gets better" and how motherhood has changed her perspective on specific issues and yet the loves the journey as it makes her grow.

Once again, a supportive husband is mentioned on this journey and Edna shares how supportive her husband has been on this journey and is grateful for him.

You may not be a mother yet, but whatever it is, just know that "it always gets better"

  • Building Successful Careers (Part 3) - Having A Radical Risk Mindset But Remaining Grounded In Reality With Lutz Ziob

"My biggest success in life is that I am still married to the first person that I did marry and I am very glad about this and the fact that my children are also well-grounded" - Lutz Ziob.

A German History Teacher who built a global business career in technology and education. He describes his career as an "accidental" career. Spent over 16 years at Microsoft starting as a General Manager and then jumped on the Skills4Afrika Initiative to support the development of talents & careers in Africa

Lutz Ziob talks about the need to do the soul searching of "what exactly do you want?", he also speaks about having a "radical risk mindset grounded in reality." It's great to have confidence but remember to remain grounded in reality.

There's nothing soft about "soft skills", it is super hard and important to learn about "soft skills". It takes a lot to understand how to become a better employee with a growth mindset.

If you’re in your 20s and 30s, there's no need to rush! Be patient with yourself. Things will turn out well - Lutz Ziob.

At the end of the day, nothing can replace a happy family at the end of your career. Never take advantage of all your relationships along the way. Remember to build long-lasting professional relationships.

In this episode, Shamima, a 21-year old career & educational consultant joins us for our series, "Building Successful Careers"

Be original. Why be an "OK" doctor when you can be a great lawyer? When it comes to building successful careers, the first thing is to start out with what you are passionate about and begin the journey.

Don't just rely on passion, you need to also cultivate the habit of researching and connecting with people who are where you want to be. Passion alone won't sustain you, you will also need to figure out how you can turn your passion into profits.

If you are a student, Shamima also encourages you to engage in a lot of extracurricular activities so you develop other relevant skills needed for life after school.

Don't put yourself in a box! If you don't do it while your hair is black, you will do it when your hair is white!
Do the hard things now and it will always pay off. Don't forget to put God in the center and He will always direct you.

Shamima shares these and more on building successful careers.
