Nepal's young and energetic shuttler Prince Dahal, a perfect blend of talent and charm, has taken a big leap in the junior badminton world ranking. He is a Nepalese Badminton player, who has reached to the third place in the ranking by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). He is the first Nepali shuttler to reach this far in world ranking. He was the gold medalist in the 2018 Dubai international junior series. Kamal Jung Kunwar is one of Chitwan’s most famous rangers, who has been credited for the rapid decline in poaching of rhinos. He has been active in the field of forest, wildlife environment conservation for the last two decades. He has played a crucial role in the conservation of rhinos during his tenure. He was forest ranger under the department of forest from 1990 to 1999. From 1999 to 2011, he was the assistant warden under the department of national parks and wildlife conservation. He was promoted under secretary in 2011, and he was Chief Warden in Chitwan National Park from 2013 to 2015 and in Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park from 2015 September to to 2018 September. He was the assistant warden and the head of the Anti-poaching Operation Unit of the Chitwan National Park Nepal from 2003 to 2007. He has published his book “Four Years for the Rhino” which is based on his experience about rhino conservation. In 2003, he was appointed head of Chitwan’s anti-poaching unit. As one of the most prominent musicians, who is known for his patriotic Nepali songs in the history of Nepali music, Gopal Yonjan was beloved in the hearts of every Nepalese. Gopal Yonjan (Lyricist, Singer, Composer) has left a staggering musical legacy, which could have disappeared had they not been documented and archived, all thanks to his wife Renchin Yonjan who started archiving his work 18 years ago after his death. He belongs to the first generation of Nepali singers who became professional singers. His songs have also been used in several movies and dramas across the country. He started his musical career as a flautist. He wrote his first lyrics in 1963, and his first musical composition was recorded in 1964. His musical works encompass nationalistic/ patriotic, spiritual, romantic, philosophical, dancing tunes, ballads, musical compositions, ode to women and womanhood, songs for children and youth and thematic songs on environment, sports, scouts, etc. His renderings range from purely classical to folk, modern and music specially created for women and children. In all this variety he has maintained his sensitivity and finesse in captivating and maintaining the Nepali touch. He had also opened a studio named “Gopalaya” at his home in Basundhara. He had prepared a fusion of band and folk music to perform in the coronation ceremony of King Birendra at Dasarath Rangashala in 2031 B.S. He has written two books named “Sangeetanjali” and “Geet Manjari”. He was the editor of “BAAGINA Publication”. He was the contributor of Music & Dance Section of the Rough Guide on Nepal by David Reed. He was a recipient of several awards such as; Chinnalata Award for Outstanding Contribution to Nepali Music (1992), Priya Award for 25 years dedicated outstanding contribution to Nepali music (1995), Suprabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu, Chinnalata Geet Puraskar, and many more. Deepak Bista (Olympian) is a most successful Nepalese taekwondo athlete, who holds the record for the first South Asian player to win four consecutive Gold medalist in South Asian Game. He is the taekwondo black belt 6th Dan holder as his professional qualification. When he was a yellow belt in 1996, he won his first Gold medal in his life in the National Taekwondo Championship held in Hetauda. He won a bronze medal at the 2002 Asian Games held in Busan, South Korea. He won the bronze medal in the welterweight category (-78 kg) at the 2006 Asian Games and competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He became the best player in Asian Olympics Qualification Tournaments in 2008. At the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, he was the flagbearer for Nepal.
