Jesus is walking on water and Peter shouts to him. He says if it is really you tell me to come. Peter then walks on water, but his faith wavered and he fell. Just like us when we take our eyes off Jesus.

Jesus walks towards the disciples on the surface of the water. The disciples are terrified. Jesus tells them "It is I" which is another way of saying "I am" and is a ststement of divinity and authority.

Jesus had an insanely bust schedule, and yet he made solitude and prayer a priority. So should we.

Today we read of Jesusand the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand.

The disciples see that a boy has five loaves and two fish. This recalls a similar event in 2 Kings 4:42-44. Sometimes we think that what we have for Jesus is tiny and insignifcant, but he can take that and produce something great.

In many places Jesus shows signs of who he is. In today's passage he shows that he is compassionate and loving.
