Are the gifts of the Spirit for today?

This is an important discussion for us to have today. If the gifts of the Spirit have ceased with the writing of the New Testament than major sects of the church are in error. If they, in fact, continue until Jesus returns then there is a great power available to the church!

Does it matter what we believe about the end times?

What kind of standards of purity are we setting for our platforms?

Purity flows from a true anointing.

Purity flows from a new covenant culture.

Purity flows from a faith in the future.

The standard of purity is one that has been set and met by Jesus Himself. We have full access to that.

Did you know that Jesus talks about "hell" the most in the bible? Is it a place of eternal conscience torment? Where do we get our modern view of hell from and how can it inform our thinking as leaders?

Sometimes all it takes is vocabulary to help us cast vision to our teams for growth, strategy, and purpose!

I hate to call out names, and the thought to “turn the other cheek” was on the forefront of my mind, but I think when names are mentioned and good people are villainized then we might have a responsibility to weigh in. The core of my argument here is the method used to disagree with a public figure is at fault. I understand that my argument is in danger of my own argument (haha), but I feel that this is necessary considering the unfolding context.

Let’s be honest, sometimes life sucks and yet we still have to get up Sunday after Sunday and keep leading people into God’s presence.

How do we do that when our affections are far from God because of circumstances out of our control? Does the bible shine any light on this subject or we called to swallow negative emotions and just keep swimming?
