We're becoming "professional friends". Counseling used to mean holding clients accountable, helping them determine boundaries, and steering them towards brutal examination, where needed. Sadly, we seem to be devolving into a professional culture that, as one friend of mine put it, is all about meeting with people an hour at a time on a "rent-a-friend" basis. That has got to stop.

To the very small segment of our society that thinks the standard response to every boy that ever played with a doll, or every girl that likes to play sports with the boys should be, "schedule the surgery", we're asking, what's your hurry?
