What's The Next Phase of Web3 for Nike & Adidas? |TheStockroom Podcast Episode 39

Welcome to today's episode of TheStockroom! Nike and Adidas have been working in the background and have finally come to present their new Web3 offerings to the world!

We take a deep dive into Web3 as Nike and RTFKT join forces to finally release real pairs of the RTFKT Air Force 1. It has been long spoken about within the community and we have seen RTFKT drop quite a few hints along the way but it is finally here. Albeit at a slightly higher price point with prices ranging from 0.25 ETH ($496) to 6 ETH ($11,500), which is just a testament to how expensive the NFT game is and also may give an insight of just how expensive they will be to produce.

Nike also used this week as an opportunity to formally launch their dotswoosh posters which give people early access to the 'Our Force 1's' as Nike seeks to give people access to some of their classic Air Force 1 posters as well as digital versions of some of their new Our Force 1 Creations.

And finally, we take it to the other side of the pond with Adidas as we discuss their 'third and final stage of into the metaverse' titled 'ALTS BY ADIDAS' where you can create your own personality or Alter Ego as it were. You are given the opportunity to create the persona of your choosing from 7 different categories, from an athlete, to a music fan or even just an individual who likes fashion. Being part of ALTS will get you access into events as well as access to different kinds of virtual and physical product too.

Joe Grondin played an immense part in putting New Balance front and centre in the footwear game as the Business Unit Manager in charge of Global Collaborations and Energy. He commissioned collaborations from the likes of KITH, Jjjjound, Joe Fresh Goods, Salehe Bembury and Aime Leon Dore to name a few.

He has now gone on to become the Chief Marketing Officer at Aime Leon Dore and we explore that and what that might mean for New Balance and ALD.

We also discuss the leaked pictures of the Air Jordan 4 Breds (2024) and whether or not we are a fan of the leather upper.
