"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9.

The Lord declares that not only are His ways are higher than our ways, but also His thoughts. For this, I am grateful.

When Things Don't Turn Out How You Expect

Have you ever prayed and felt like God was going to give you exactly what you wanted? Me too. Has He done something completely unexpected and you felt cheated from the blessing that you desired? I've been there too.

I've been crushed by God's indefinite "no" and I've cried out to the Lord, "why is this happening to me? "What are You doing, Lord?"

In my walk with God I try my best to not feel entitled to a life without pain and heartache. Regardless of how much I've invested into the Kingdom of God, I remind myself that my righteousness is like dirty rags (Isaiah 64:6). I need the Lord to clothe me with His righteousness and love.

Hopelessness is a real feeling. It a state of mind where you may feel like nothing is ever going to get better or nothing is ever going to change. This is a tactic of the enemy; he wants to steal your hope, kill your relationship with God, and destroy your future.

After having a much needed cry-it-out-session with the Lord, try to wipe your tears away and lift up your eyes to the hills from whence cometh your help (Psalm 121). Tell God, "You must have something better for me. You know the end from the beginning. Help me to trust You." Trust is a big step in any relationship. God cherishes our trust.

Speak Faith

Maybe you are facing a serious situation in your life and you are not receiving the answers you desire. It can be difficult to put our needs, marriage, children, job, etc., in God's hands because we do not know what He is going to do to bring our answers to pass.

I wish I could see what He sees. There are times when God gives us a glimpse of His plan, but it's often a little bit at a time. If you've cried some tears, that's okay, we are human. But, don't live in a state of hopelessness. Take time to pray scriptures out loud and speak faith into your situation.
