Thinking Outside The Long Box

What a time to have such a wonderful, and funny, individual on the show for an interview! We had the opportunity to speak with actor, Rebecca Metz!

We spoke to Rebecca about her time on the FX series, Better Things, as Tressa, who plays Sam's (Pamela Adlon) manager and friend! She tells us about some of how she got involved with the show, and what it's like to work with such a great group of people!

We did also speak a little more broadly about Rebecca's career. We spoke about her foray into the horror side of things, and whether or not she thinks that might be something that she does more of in the future. AND, we spoke, all the way on the other end of the spectrum, about her show for kids, called Coop & Cami Ask The World. She has had a very fun career, and you'll see her in some awesome shows!

Are you ready to step back in time with us once again? A time where there were mob bosses and crooked cops......well maybe not much has changed. We're going back to 1989, to talk about a film that was set in the late 1930's, in Harlem. Of course we're talking about the Eddie Murphy, and Richard Pryor movie, Harlem Nights.

Things are going bad at Club Sugar Ray. So, Quick & Sugar, decide that it's time to finally close the doors to the club, and move on to a different city. They hatch a scheme, in order to fake fixing a fight, while they're able to steal the cities mob boss, of all of his money. During the ruse, chaos erupts. People are dying, and Quick is accused of killing someone, but is of course innocent. The bosses money is stolen, and his heroine is replaced with sugar. It's a crazy story, revolving around a time of fancy clothes, and fancy cars, when things seemed to be much simpler, and where you could steal a whole ton of money, and just move onto a different ciy.;

 Hello everyone! We are back again with another amazing interview episode!! This time we are speaking with the lead actor in the SyFy series, Vagrant Queen! That is none other than Adriyan Rae!

Vagrant Queen is based on the Vault comic, of the same name! Elida, played by Adriyan, is a former child queen, who was forced off of the throne, and now wanders the galaxy, as those same forces still do their best to hunt her down!

Not only did we get to speak with Adriyan about her current/past projects, but we also spoke to her about #LoveandLight Media, her passion project! #LoveandLight Media dabbles in a few different areas, from productions to screenwriting, as well as scholarship opportunities! If you're in the medical field, or a health profession, you should definitely make sure that you look into #LoveandLight Media!!

GUILLERMO!! He is the person at the center of the next show that we are talking about!! While the "familiar" is doing everything that he can, to try and get his chance to become a vampire, his masters are doing everything they can to keep him as a familiar! The dynamic between the human, Guillermo, and his master vampires, is what makes, What We Do In The Shadows so hilarious! Whether it's a run in with werewolves, while they're peeing on some sculptures, or if it's a bunch of ghosts, this series is one worth taking a look at!! PLUS, Haley Joel Osment debuts in the second season, as another familiar, accidentally killed, and then turned into a zombie, by the power of scat, via Benedict Wong! Don't sleep on this one, but if you do, make sure it's during the day, so you don't burn up!

Hello everyone! Check out our latest interview!! We got the awesome opportunity to spend some time with Faruq Tauheed! Most of you might be familiar with Faruq, because of his time as the ring announcer on the Discovery Channel series, Battlebots. BUT, he is now, also the host, on the NBC series, Roots Less traveled.

Of course, Roots Less traveled is the biggest subject that we got to explore with Faruq! Having premiered on April 4th, the series follows two family members, who are on the hunt for historical facts about their family and relatives! Watch as they go on the hunt for their history long since past!

We did also get to spend a little bit of time speaking to Faruq about his time on Masterchef season 1! It was a great conversation, and Faruq tells us about his career, and a little bit about his upbringing!

We always have a TON of fun doing these listener interaction episodes!! Talking over each other, and talking about the most random things, honestly is so much fun, to cap off every recording session! So many fun people all together, especially during times like these! Make sure that you give our episode a listen, and make sure that you have these kinds of people in your lives. That way, when times are lonely, or dark, you can always turn to that one person, and the light, no matter how small, will always be there!

So this episode is about a series, that might be one of the more unnerving things that we're going to watch this year! One of the cool things about it, is that it is a foreign horror series, coming from France! You know what that means, is that it is actually going to be really good, and I promise you, you won't be disappointed! The whole crew are pretty big fans of the horror genre in general, and we all recommend Marianne! Do yourself a favor, and go hit up Netflix, RIGHT NOW to take in this creepy series! BUT, make sure that you watch the dubbed version, because there is too much to be seen on the screen, for you to be reading subtitles! And remember, if you don't watch, we'll tell Marianne, and you know, she never leaves empty handed!

You have "seven days" in order to listen to our newest episode!! Of course nothing will happen if you don't listen, but you will miss out on a great episode!! Our pop culture classic is actually a two for one for this episode! We're watching the classic Japanese horror film, Ringu! PLUS we are speaking about its American counterpart, The Ring! I think that if you take the time to revisit both of these films, that you'll actually find that you'll be satisfied! The Ring gets a lot of grief for being a reboot, and not being Ringu, but they're both REALLY solid films. This is one time that the reboot, performed well, as far as the original storyline goes. Don't hate it because you think it didn't respect the original, or you're going to miss out on a pretty good movie! Take the chance, watch them both, and hopefully you survive until the eight day!!

We're starting off the next four episodes, with a horror theme!! In this series, we talk about zombies (or maybe not actually zombies), PLUS the mixture of a Korean drama, actually turn out to be a great piece of art! We are of course, talking about the Netflix series, Kingdom! The first story in the series, tells the story of a kingdom in disarray. The crown prince, heir to the throne, has no idea if his father is alive or not, plus the Queen and her father have two completely competing ideas on how to take over the throne. It's a complete mess, when nobody knows what the other is doing. PLUS, there is a disease that is quickly spreading throughout the kingdom. It turns every person, bitten by another person who has the disease, into a flesh eating zombie. Who, by the way, may or may not be allergic to the sun? Maybe the heat? Seem super convoluted, but it actually melds together quite well!

We're a little bit behind, BUT still putting out content!! It's that time again, for one a crazy episode!! You know what that means!! It's listener interaction episode time!! Whenever we do one of these, we invite as many people as we can, to be on the show, and let us know what they want to talk about, and what they want us to talk about. This is no exception, except these are different, because of the quarantine aspects! That means that sometimes these are a little crazier than normal haha! SO, hopefully you'll come join us to see what the latest things that Gabe has been listening to. What we've all been watching and reading, and what our lives have been like, in the last two weeks of quarantine!
