Thinking Outside The Long Box

In 2015 there was a movie that came out, about the spy genre. It was aptly titled, Spy. The movie stars Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law, Rose Byrne, and Jason Statham! With such a star studded cast, you know that the movie is going to be a worthwhile investment of your time! It revolves a group of CIA field agents, who are solving a bunch of different crimes. When one field agent dies, and the rest of the team is compromised, Melissa McCarthy's character, has to go out into the field, which she has never done, in order to solve the murder mystery! She really comes into her own, as a field agent, while battling with crazy situations out in the field, and with her team back in the CIA office. Honestly, with all the awesome comedy happening, Jason Statham does a great job of stealing the scenes that he is a part of. If you're a McCarthy fan, this is definitely worth the watch, at least one time!

Come on down the rabbit hole with us, as we explore the world of "Tales from the Loop," a little bit more with our next guest! She stars in a few different episodes, as they are linear, without being completely linear. BUT, she is the main star in the third episode, titled, Stasis. We are of course speaking about the young actor, Nicole Law!! The episode, Stasis, was all about doing everything that could be done, in order to hang on to one special moment, with one special person. And what happens one person believes that their trust has been broken. It's definitely a fascinating episode, and Nicole does a great job of bringing the situation to life, with her unique "find," which as you know if you've watched the show, these items are found all throughout the city!

Are you ready for the Wolf!! I'm not sure that we were ever ready for the character that Derek Wilson brought to life, on our screens, in the Hulu series, Future Man! Derek plays Wolf, who seems to be very rough around the edges, but if you dig deep enough, you'll find that he cares very deeply. Whether it's about cooking, or about his partner, he would go to the ends of the earth for any of those things he cares about! We were able to have a very insightful conversation with Derek about his experience on Future Man, and some of the things that he constantly had to speak to his lawyers about. Plus, we got to chat a little bit about his time on Preacher, and about how the pandemic has effected, not only his acting, but his life in general. Derek seems to be a very chill human, who just wants to read some Shakespeare every now and then!

It might as well be Friday, because MOST of us aren't going to our jobs, and we don't have anything to do! Hopefully they didn't catch you on tape stealing boxes! But, if they did, take that time to come and listen to our EPISODE 200, on the 1995 movie, Friday. This movie stars Ice Cube, and Chris Tucker, whose day goes from decent, to awful, with a drive by, and a fight to possibly save a neighborhood. This is the 25th year anniversary of the movie, and it seemed like the right time to speak about such an iconic movie! Whether you smoke weed or not, this movie more than likely touched you in one way or another! Make sure you go watch it, if you have not recently seen it!

Tales from the Loop happens to be one of the strangest series' we've ever seen. This series was adapted from an art book by Simon Stalenhag! The story is linear, without really being linear. You learn a good amount about a lot of people, without actually going really deep into their lives, save for Cole and Loretta's family. The story telling is definitely different, and one of us couldn't get through the series, only because it is a little bit more on the melancholy side, which strikes a chord with what is going on in the world today! But, BECAUSE it's so different, is the reason that I think we all, for the most part, really enjoyed this show! Check it out on Amazon Prime Video!
