We wrap up our conversation with Trevor Hudson by looking at what comes after the Ignatian Exercises and how to discern whether they're the right fit for you. Trevor emphasizes the importance of paying attention to desire and the role preparation plays before ever beginning. We close with a soundbite from Trevor on what it means to feel drawn to the Exercises in the first place.

We continue our conversation with Trevor Hudson, diving into the structure of the Ignatian Exercises across four weeks: Knowledge of Sin, the Birth and Ministry of Jesus, the Passion and Death of Jesus, and finally the Joy of the Resurrection. Trevor walks us through how each week builds on the last, and members of our group share their own experiences with the exercises. We also explore the freedom and flexibility built into the Ignatian approach, including how the daily invitation can be adapted to wherever you find yourself.

We sit down with Trevor Hudson, a Methodist pastor and author from South Africa, for a conversation about the Ignatian Exercises. Trevor shares how he was first introduced to them in 1990, what eventually led him away, and what drew him back. We explore the idea of "friendship" with Jesus, what attracts us to him and what separates us, and touch on suffering and grief as part of the spiritual journey. "God is our environment as the sea is to the fish and the air to the bird. God is over all things, under all things; outside all; within but not enclosed; without but not excluded; above but not raised up; below but not depressed; wholly above, presiding; wholly beneath, sustaining; wholly within, filling." - Hildebert of Lavardin
