  • #41 Stop playing small

It's a new year, a new decade and this is the time to step into your authentic selves in a more powerful way than ever. We cannot afford to play small anymore. The cosmos, our souls and the collective need each and every one of us to be as true to ourselves as possible. That's why we incarnated here—to evolve spiritually through this human experience. This moment in time is critical for our evolution and you must show up for your Self, the planet and each other. We've been conditioned to believe that we can only have so much, be so much, do so much, but the truth is, we are playing small and limiting ourselves for the core fear of being too much. A daily practice—called sahana—will help you receive the messages your soul is sending and allow you to establish a faith and trust in yourself. The time is no to step into your Self!

I'll be leading an online immersion starting on January 10, 2020 which will help you establish a daily spiritual routine, step into your power, and empower yourself through connecting with your intuitive wisdom. Check out the Facebook event for more details.

  • #40 Calling in what you want to manifest in 2020

It may cliche to make intentions for the new year, but it can be a really powerful practice when you have the right intention behind it. In this episode, I talk about why 2020 is going to be a year of love and miracles, how committing to taking an action every day for a specific duration is so powerful, and some of the rituals and practices that I do to call in what I'm manifesting for the coming year. If you listen to this episode after the new year, don't worry, these tools can be used on any day. I'm just sharing them now because the collective energy behind New Years intentions is so strong.

Happy New Year—it's going to be one of transformation, love and miracles, so get ready for the ride!

  • #39 Navigating the holidays with grace and love

Navigating the holidays can be a challenge for anyone, let alone those of us on a spiritual path that doesn't necessarily fit into societal norms. You may spend the holidays with extended family that have a way of pushing buttons no one else can—and you may observe yourself unconsciously pushing others' buttons! But with self-awareness, you can let go of your old patterns and really step into acceptance, and you truly can be comfortable in any situation. In this episode, I share some of my experiences navigating the holidays in sobriety, eating a plant-based diet in a family that is omnivorous, going to church with family not because I'm christian, but because I'm happy to spend Christmas Eve with them, and some other observations I've made about myself over the last few years. Most importantly, I want to remind you that—though our culture tells us otherwise—this season is about self-care, rest, rejuvenation, community, family, and most importantly...LOVE.

Stay tuned for next week where I talk about how I call in manifestations for the year to come and share some of the rituals I like to do on New Year's Eve and on the first day of the year.

    Mentioned in this episode:

    • Insight Timer (btw, you can search for me on the app Susan von Thun in Aptos and add me as a friend! I love connecting with people in meditation!).
    • Santa Cruz artist Bree Karpvage
    • The Rich Roll podcast episode with his wife Julie Piatt.

  • #38 Following your creative spark to find your Self with Julian Melanson

This episode is an inspiring conversation I had with Julian Melanson, a filmmaker, a yogi, and a teacher. In this conversation, we go deep into Julian's journey as he courageously followed his inspiration and intuition throughout his life. From producing skateboard videos as a kid and creating a popular YouTube channel before it was even a thing, to becoming a best-selling online filmmaking course teacher, Julian has always followed his creativity in his life. While building his career by doing what he loved, he also launched himself on a spiritual journey that took him on a meandering journey to yoga, meditation, sound and color healing, among many other modalities.

As Julian's consciousness shifts, he has devoted himself to up-leveling his career and all other aspects of his life along the way. His most recent work has lead him to create his own platform called LYFE Academy, featuring personal transformational courses (which by the way, is about to undergo a major expansion)! He's also starting his own podcast covering topics like creativity, yoga, and meditation. You may even hear me on his podcast in the very near future, so stay tuned!

    Mentioned in the episode:

    • White tantric yoga
    • Julian's website, which has tons of resources and inspiration for creators and filmmakers.
    • Julian's YouTube channel
    • Julian on Instagram @juliandiscovers
    • Motivational speaker Tony Robbins.
    • The Binaural beats audio that Julian uses.
    • One of the free mediation apps he likes: Calm
    • Elliot Hulse on YouTube.
    • The first kundalini yoga teacher that inspired Julian to dive into kundalini Seda Aksut.
    • Tama Do Academy and Julian's teacher Fabien Maman.
    • Kundalini Yoga teacher training at Yoga West.
    • Brandon Hakim online course on Udemy.com.
    • Julian's filmmaking courses on Udemy.com.
    • Julian's new online course platform LYFE Academy.

  • #37 Learn through experience

I just returned from a journey to France for a retreat in which we dove deep into kundalini yoga and meditation, the current astrological climate, connecting with our spirit guides, angels and ascended masters, and so many more mystical practices. While I'm still unraveling the blessings and wisdom received through the experience, in this episode, I share some of the magic of the journey, why the cosmos are supporting you in building the foundations for everything you've envisioned over the last year, and why you should ALWAYS listen to your intuition when it tells you to do something new. I've found that when I listen to my inner guidance, the magic that unfolds still stuns me.

    Mentioned in this episode:

    • The Mystics Retreat I went to in the Loire Valley fo France.
    • Sat Devbir Singh on Instagram.
    • Rose Theodora on instagram.
    • Kristi Noel on Instagram.

  • #36 Gratitude

This Thanksgiving week, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about the power of gratitude. No matter how you feel or the situation you're in, there's always an opportunity to find something to be grateful for. Practice finding gratitude even at your low points, and you'll find it to be an incredibly healing and uplifting process. In this episode, I talk about some of my experiences with this and how it's changed my life. I also THANK YOU, the listeners, for your love and support in this process of sharing my experience in an authentic way so that you might be inspired to take the courageous steps required for spiritual evolution. Love you and sat nam!

  • #35 The Power of Silence

In this final episode of the series on conscious communication, we delve into the power of silence. Connecting to silence, stillness, neutrality in your communications and your life as a while is an effective way to fully embody your true nature. I find that practicing silence is a way for me to find Oneness, Source, God. By recognizing the God within ourselves and the God within everyone, everything, we find serenity and peace regardless of what's happening. Through prayer, meditation and faith, we can connect to the silence of the unknown within ourselves—and therefore, securely feeling that there is nothing to fear.  When we connect to stillness, we can feel the exact trajectory of spiritual evolution that we were meant to take. Connect to silence daily and see what happens!

    Mentioned in this episode:

    • Sat Devbir's energy update from 11/17.
    • Rose Theodora on instagram.
    • Yogi Bhajan's teachings on Shunyia, which means point of stillness, or neutrality.
    • More on the Kundalini Yoga Level 2 Conscious Communication course.

  • #34 The Power of Listening

In this second episode of the conscious communication series, we focus on the power of listening. We often are too hung up on our own agendas instead of really listening to others. When we harness the power of listening to others, to our own words and thoughts, and our intuition, we inform and connect to our world. When we listen deeply, sunni-ali in gurmukhi, we can be one step ahead of the moment.

As Yogi Bhajan says, listening is your greatest power, "When some of you stop listening, you don’t want to listen. That is the time when you make the greatest mistake of your life because your constitution, your construction, your building, your faculty, your power is in listening."

    Mentioned in this episode:

    • Some meditations that increase your connection to your intuition that I have found to be very powerful are Kirtan Kriya (which I talked about extensively in episode 3), Sodarshan Chakra Kriya, Long Ek Ong Kars, and so many more! You'll find so many kriyas and meditations that increase your intuitive power in the featured kundalini kriyas from 3HO, especially those under the section "The Spirit".

  • #33 Words Matter

How conscious is your communication? Words have a vibrations and energy. Each word is wrapped up and delivered in a "pranic unit"—a package of energy that can uplift or lower the energy of those involved in the communication. How often do we say words with intention to elevate others and the world? More often than not, we get so caught up in our own thoughts that words just come out without much thought or thought to the content, intent, and effect of our words.

After an enlightening week of level 2 Kundalini Teacher Training with Dr. Haridass Khalsa on conscious communication, I was inspired to create a series of episodes on the topic. In the series, I'll share a few topics that came up for me in the immersion and my experience with deeply observing my own communications in relationships, professional situations and even here on the podcast. This episode is the first in the series and will dive into how our words matter.

    Mentioned in this episode:

    • Dr. Haridass Khalsa's worldwide kundalini yoga trainings.
    • Yogi Bhajan's Library of Teachings.
    • Paramatma Siri Sadhana's immersion Her Future Form:: Last Light of the Decade.

  • #32 You are limitless

Many of us have been conditioned about our health, our intelligence, our physical abilities, and any number of other things. But have you ever thought about where those limitations and conditions really come from? The only limitations in your life are in your mind. When we run into a road block that we think we can't overcome, it is literally there because we have placed it there ourselves. It's time to step beyond our limitations, heal ourselves, and reclaim our power as creator beings.  You are LIMITLESS.

    Mentioned in this episode:

    • The Third Eye Science podcast episode with Sat Devbir Singh.
    • Dr. Joe Dispenza's book You Are The Placebo.
    • Yogi Bhajan's teachings on durational daily practices.
    • Paramatma Siri Sadhana's Space Weather Transmissions.
