Since the gift of repentance has then inclined our hearts positively towards God (Ezek 36:26-27) and I now have A heart of flesh that wants to obey God, I must follow the inclinations of the Spirit and obey God in practice.

Therefore the knowledge of repentance must produce

1. doxology 2. Assurance and 3. Instruction

Of particular importance is the instruction as we see the necessity of an ongoing life of repentance in the Christian. The gift of repentance must be accompanied by works of repentance

Brother Sam concludes In the second part of the teaching by addressing the differences in infants and the mature in the faith.

The Bible characterizes infants as sensual, unstable, divisive, self-absorbed and proud. Qualities that are found in those who do not profess Christ.

However, an infant Christian ought to grow and shed off all the aforementioned negatives.

If a Christian remains in infancy after a while, it is a cause for concern.

What then are the tools to engender growth in the infant Christian

1. The word (the Bible)

2. ⁠the church (that dispenses the word in adherence to apostolic doctrine)

3. ⁠prayer

4. ⁠the sacraments (communion especially)

Jesus heals the man at the pool but the Pharisees were more bothered about the man carrying his mat on the sabbath.
