A soldier strives to please His master. An athlete strives to contend according to the game rules set by His master.
God is concerned with the ends as much as the means to achieve the ends.
Therefore what we do and how we do it are important to God because He dictates how our lives are to be in this world
This teaching will reorient any mind to understand how to truly please God and have His hierarchy of values as theirs
This part concludes with an instruction that the Lord gives us as soldiers of Christ and athletes in His arena

In our world today where persecution is seen as a curse and many think persecution will be the death of the church, Brother Sam reminds us from scripture to be prepared to be ostracized for the hope that we profess, something to the point of death.

What greater blessing than to open our eyes before our Savior!

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled” (Matthew 5:6)

In this fourth part of the teaching; Brother Sam begins by describing God as “the Good”; the One through whom all good things emanate from.

However, there’s a tendency for humanity to replace one of the goods God gives with the ultimate Good; God Himself.

Brother Sam therefore describes what a hunger and thirst for righteousness looks like

To hunger and thirst for righteousness is to flee all things that defile

To hunger and thirst for righteousness is to have no company with evildoers.

To hunger and thirst for righteousness is to turn our backs on this world and its fleeting pleasures.

To hunger and thirst….
