  • Sinai and Zion - Part 2

In the second part of this series on Galatians, brother Sam continues by explaining Sanctification & Justification and Blessings & Efforts

depending on what your foundation is will determine whether you fall into a form of legalism described by Paul in Galatians or you walk in the Grace freely given by Jesus Christ in His Redemptive work

Brother Sam explains specific revelation and general revelation/common good to show us how the legalism in Galatians is based on the specific revelation of the Law.

Brother Sam further explains how legalism leads to a tasteless life of sanctification but a sanctification based on Justification and the joy that follows leads to a joyful response to live for God and forsake our sins

  • Highway to Hell: Avoiding Negligence

Brother Sam exhorts us from Matt 7:13-14. He admonishes us on one of the vehicles on the highway to hell.

The vehicle of negligence/carelessness is the one sure vehicle that will lead us to destruction. It desensitizes us to the whiles of the enemy and lacks sober judgement

Satan is powerful and one of the ways satan makes us fall for his tricks is to underestimate his power. We remain on the narrow and hard way by being watchful and sober-minded.

  • Sinai and Zion

In this exposition on the book of Galatians, Brother Sam begins by explaining to us what God did in commissioning the 12 apostles and Paul (through revelation) to spread the gospel of His redemption of mankind.

What makes the words of the apostles authoritative and what are the implications of rejecting the words of the apostles as uninspired and open to subjective interpretation? Brother Sam shows us in this introduction

He continues by emphasizing the efficacy of the gospel as the solution to every life situation. Hence Paul’s insistence that the gospel is sufficient for the salvation of mankind. In addition to it; plaguing the Galatian church, was worthy of a curse

We do hope this series blesses you

  • The Same Spirit of Faith

Brother Seye shares an exhortation on the hope of a Christian from Psalm 116. The spirit of faith is the one that speaks about the hope of the believer in eternity and not the common declaration of a desire for God as it has been commonly taught.

Our hope is not in this world, the speaking isn't to change the afflictions or persecutions it is a speaking about the hope of resurrection we have in the Lord. The hope of eternal life.

  • Tears and Perfume

Brother Sam expounds the text on the lady who washed Jesus' feet with her tears and wiped His feet with her hair on His visit to Simon’s house.

Simon seems to wonder why Jesus would allow such a sinful lady to wash His feet

How many times have we approached the Lord like Simon and not like the lady?

“He that is forgiven much loves much”

Brother Sam calls us to a heart posture that remembers how much we were forgiven so that it informs the depth of our love towards our Lord and Saviour

Like the parable of the servant who was forgiven 10,000 talents, we all owe God for our sins for our sins are manifold but God forgave us much

Brother Sam calls us to love God for true love for God is the antidote to hating our sins and leaving them behind

Fear cannot stop us from committing sins and grieving our Lord. But true Love informed by the magnitude of our sins forgiven helps us to deny ourselves and follow the Lord to the end.

  • The Kingdom

Bro Kingsley teaches Matthew 6:19-33, on how we are to think and operate in the Kingdom of God as believers.

We look at what it means to store up treasures for ourselves and how avarice can easily influence our outlook and choices so subtly.

We also look at the deception of the kingdom takeover doctrine and how it is used to store up treasure for ourselves here on earth

We're ultimately taught not to trust in any other source but God.

  • The Gift and Work of Repentance

In this teaching, Brother Seye Maj walks us through the gift and work of repentance in the Christian faith.

He begins by highlighting the Christian’s former state in utter darkness and depravity

On that note, the ability to see our sins, mourn and sorrow of them and turn our hearts to God is a gift. It is the gift of repentance

Since the gift of repentance has then inclined our hearts positively towards God (Ezek 36:26-27) and I now have A heart of flesh that wants to obey God, I must follow the inclinations of the Spirit and obey God in practice.

Therefore the knowledge of repentance must produce

    1. doxology 2. Assurance and 3. Instruction

Of particular importance is the instruction as we see the necessity of an ongoing life of repentance in the Christian. The gift of repentance must be accompanied by works of repentance

  • The Message of Apostle John - Part 12

Sister Ijeoma continues her teaching/bible study series on the gospel according to the Apostle John. In this study, we look at the whole of John 6.

We see God's disposition towards people, in caring for our material needs (food), despite knowing they would still leave him. She admonishes us to seek God not as the means to an end but as the end in Himself.

What is the bread for you in this age and time, what is the good gift that you are in danger of using God as a means to the end of?
