The entire scientific field may be at deaths door due to systematic faults in the system. After several scientific studies were put into question or invalidated outright due to the fact that results published in their studies were found to be unreproducible people began to sound the alarm that a full blown crisis was at hand. It’s called variously the replication or reproducibility crisis and it seems to affect every field to some extent, but it’s really noticeable among psychology and social science studies.
