I had the pleasure of making a new friend and interviewing Mr. Robbie Shoults out of East Texas about his family's long running restaurant, Bear Creek Smokehouse. He's also got quite the bourbon collection and an absolute adoration for the Buffalo Trace line, and we take a deep dive into that, as well. It's a fantastic time and I hope y'all enjoy it! I've been trying to find this bourbon for a while, folks. No, seriously. Years ago, I was told of a bourbon that was 4 years old, brand new, and held promise for the future of the industry as we know it. Have you heard of it? Well, funny enough, I've heard this story over and over again, and it's lead to successes unheard of on so many occasions. But, here we are, facing down the barrel of the potential next big kid to be featured in your home bar. Jackson Purchase, out of Western Kentucky, is helmed by two veteran Kentucky Bourbon distillers who are ready to make a name for themselves and are bringing the heat with the first release of their new brand. As we reach the end of the year, I thought it was important to take some time to look at what made 2025 successful and where it fell apart.
