  • The Town Hall Was Saved by Zack!

We had audio issues (when do we not when we do a live group event?!?!?!?)

But luckily Louligan Director/Videographer/Hero Zack Ziaja had SEVERAL cameras running and was able to piece together a FANTASTIC audio track for us. So Zack gets all the producer credits for this episode!!!!! Your royalty check is incoming. Hate to tell you it’s zero.

So our front office (Jim Kavanaugh, Tom Strunk, Pat Barry, Jeremy Alumbaugh, and Ant Pulis) continue the season kickoff schedule with the Town Hall. They have their statements they make, and answer the questions from those in attendance and those submitted by those who couldn’t be there. As always, they answer as honestly and truthfully as possible, and really give insight into the offseason moves and plans.

We are EXTREMELY lucky for this accessibility. Many other SG’s are jealous of the access we have and these types of events just strengthen our bond with this club, and what the future holds.

Again, so many thanks to Zack for saving my ass. Give him many uncomfortable hugs.

  • Live From Schlafly: Women’s Soccer Is the Topic!

At this point in the soccer landscape, there isn’t a reason to dedicate a special episode to the women. The USWNT is significantly more successful than the men’s team. The Fire and Ice are by far and away the most successful soccer team in St. Louis over the Louligan’s history.

But there’s a lot of people that don’t know this. So we have this special episode dedicated just to women’s soccer. First up, our guest Lori Khazen. You may not know her name, but you should. She holds most of the records at Wash U. She’s the assistant coach for Webster’s women’s team. And she’s the technical guide for the play at the Rep Theater, The Wolves, about a women’s soccer team. She tells us all about the play, getting actors to be soccer players, and her career. She’s a hidden legend in this community.

Lori is joined by friend of the podcast, Lindsay Kennedy-Eversmeyer. We know her as owner and coach of Fire and Ice SC; but Lindsay is here to discuss the newest venture, Fire and Ice Academy. More places for girls to aspire to is a good thing for St. Louis soccer.

This is a long one at 1.5 hours. But it’s by far and away the most important, because it gives these women the respect earned and deserved.

  • The Break is Over, 2019 is Underway!
As our friend Sam Wise said, the season starts with the American Outlaws STL vs Louligans Charity Match.  And it was a great one!
We’ve got a lot to talk about.  More than I can type here.  It’s been almost a month with the holiday break, so a lot to cover, and lets be honest, it’s better you listen to it to find everything out.

  • Like The World Cup, He Appears Once Every Four Years…
Former USMNT Captain, NASL Rookie of the Year, Steamers Legend, and Wichita Public Enemy #1, Steve Pecher joins us!
Steve’s stories are always some of the best we’ve heard.  He doesn’t need a green jacket to share the St. Louis soccer history we all know and love; he lived it and he’s here to make us laugh!
We do talk a bit about current news…the newest STLFC signing, upcoming events…oh, and that MLS thing going on.  But for once, we’re here to talk about the St. Louis soccer past.  It’s almost like we’re soccer media at this point…

  • Offseason Starts, But #MLS4TheLou is Kicking Into High Gear!
Now that the Phoenix Drogbas have lost to the two time champs Louisville, USL news is pretty much nonexistant.
But that’s ok, we spent 10 minutes with Carolyn Kindle-Betz, of the effort to bring MLS to St. Louis today.  The boys talk about that progress, what’s going on with the Board of Aldermen, and what to keep an eye on in the upcoming weeks.
We also talk about the busy December; there’s a lot of Louligan events planned and then the players report to STLFC in February.  So it’s not that far off…
As it’s Thanksgiving week, thank you for listening and downloading.

  • Fan Favorite Sean Reynolds Joins Us!
Sean is one of our favorite guests, and seems to be one of the listeners as well.  He doesn’t hold back, can hold court with his stories and opinions, and we always end up chatting longer than anticipated as a result.
Sean talks about the end of the season, what he’s looking forward to for next year, and the players side of “we’re not fucking done yet.”  Always great to have him on the couch.
Settle in, because just like last time, this one clocks in at two hours, and it worth every second!

  • The Season May Be Over But We’re Not Done Yet.
After a disappointing game saturday, we begrudgingly accept the end of the season.
But the pod isn’t done with that.  We’ll keep doing shows, most likely every two weeks unless there’s big news.
And we don’t have much news this week, so it’s mostly a recap and take your hot takes.
Listen as you do, because you’re awesome.

  • Playoffs.
That’s all it is, isn’t it?
We’ve made the playoffs.  We needed four points in two games, and we got it.  And here we sit, playing the team’s first playoff game on saturday.
So needless to say, there’s so much to talk about with STLFC.  Playoffs, Louligan Player of the Year, the road leading up and heading to Orange County.  We’re gonna talk about it all.
And we also talk about the other news about the potential MLS team.  Which is great.  But it’s not the playoffs.
    Saturday.  Do it.

  • Playoff Push Comes With MLS News!
Sorry for the embargo on the release…but we were bound by the law of International Waters…Or threats by Jim and Tom.  Jim Kavanaugh, CEO of WorldWide Technology and CEO of Saint Louis FC, calls in to the show to talk about the news today (well, for you listening) regarding #MLS4TheLou!!!
Jim and the Taylor family (of Enterprise) are combining their STL superpowers and have announced intentions to bring a MLS team to St. Louis!  What’s different this time from last?  Jim answers that and several other questions.  We’re grateful that his first stop was to talk to us and the Louligans about these efforts.  Jim spends more time than intended, but closes with the important point about the here and now:
THE PLAYOFF PUSH.  Saint Louis FC has two games to take care of business.  The two games this week are critical, and we need to pack the park.  We move on from saturday’s game in Phoenix, and talk about what we need to do.
Stuart Hultgren and Mark Gardner join us to discuss the playoffs and MLS…and Stuart’s exciting raffle item for the last game.  A hint: It doesn’t come with a bottle from Reno.
So much to talk about.  Why are you still reading this?  Go listen!

  • Lewis Hilton Agrees With Bird: US Chocolate Tastes Like Waxy Vomit.
Waxy vomit? You should listen to find out why.
Bird won’t say it’s back on, but I think the rest of us are now.
Not only are we excited about our form, so’s our guest, midfield dynamo Lewis Hilton.  Lewis is definitely a top contender for Louligan Player of the Year, and we’re happy to talk the game with him.  He’s been a great presence in the midfield, and equally great on the couch on this show.
We ask him your questions, talk news, the USL rebrand, and how the color is not gold.  (It’s bronze or beige.)
Listen to prepare for the away game saturday.  Cause we’re not f**king done.
