Tom Badgett began his career as a small-town radio announcer after high school. That experience led to a television and documentary film career. He worked as a residential childcare worker for delinquent boys, taught speech and theater, computer technology and programming, color photography and technical writing as a college teacher. He owned one of the first computer stores in the country, was a co-founder of an Internet service provider in the 1990’s, and several other businesses in the 2000’s. He served as a technical writer for national magazines, including PC, Popular Electronics, and Digital News. He published some 60 technical books and produced 30 computer-related video training courses. He edited and published Stan Brock's autobiography, "All the Cowboys Were Indians" in 2000 and his own autobiography through the StoryWorth Web site in 2021. Also in 2021 he published through Page Publishing a Stan Brock book, "Seed of the Assasai," a decades-long joint project with Brock. Then Badgett decided to re-invent himself as a fiction writer. One short story book, "The Courier and Other Tall Tales" was released in 2022. Soon to be released is an exciting historical novel with author David Thomas Stone. And Badgett and Stone have several other fiction projects in the works.

About Secrets under the Apple Tree is the first in a series of books targeting children ages twelve and up. It is written as a mystery designed to entertain as well as challenge the thinking skills of young readers.

This book takes place in a small town in Upstate New York. The area is predominantly a farming community rich in growing fine New York State apples and grapes. Although this book does not discuss much about the farming industry or its growing apples, grapes, or other products, the book sets the foundation for future readings with mystery overtones.

The main characters in the book are two boys. Corey spent the majority of his young years in New York City and coming up to the country to spend summers with his grandparents. Bobby was born and raised in a small town and is very curious in nature. The story is centered on the family relocating from big city life, coming back to the family roots, and a friendship between the boys' fathers that dates back to Tom Albright and the now chief of police's youth.

The boys get involved with a note and map dating back years. Believing it is something their fathers buried years ago, they set out to solve the mysterious game set before them. Instead, what they find is something that involves the whole town dating back decades.

STORMRIDER: "A Historical Novel Based on True Events" by Gordon L. "Box" Bocher

This is a historical novel which chronicles the Vietnam War and its effect upon the individuals who fought in the war and those who chose not to serve. It is definitively a first-hand account of what it was like to enter manhood in the shadow of this unpopular war. The book covers the psychological costs of combat visited upon those who fought and the damage to the psyche of those who decided that the war was not worth risking their lives to serve their country. This novel covers 12 years of military service. The last active-duty mission of the main character, Blake, was the aborted attempt to rescue 53 hostages held by Iran in April 1980. The book will inform the reader of exactly what happened in the Iranian desert on that fateful day. Finally the book describes the main character's struggle to overcome posttraumatic stress from a year's worth of combat. The fact that 40 members of his squadron have their names etched in the Memorial wall in Washington never leaves him.

I was born in New York City and raised on Long island. I spent four years at Marietta College and two years doing graduate work at Ohio State University. I gave up my 2-S deferment and joined the United States Air Force in January 1968. I successfully completed navigator training in September 1969. I had orders to fly the AC-119G gunship but I contracted cancer and was retired from the Air Force. I spent eighteen months recuperating from several operations. I gave up a 100% disability and rejoined the Air Force as a rated navigator. I flew 177 combat missions as a fire control officer aboard the AC – 130A gunship. From 1973- 1977, I taught celestial navigation. From there I spent the next three years in Air Force rescue. I left the Air Force in 1980 and after a brief stint in the private sector, I worked as an air-traffic control specialist for the next twenty-seven years. I am married for over thirty-five years and have a step-daughter and a son.

Stories of my youth taught me that God can speak to our hearts in dreams, just like He did in Scripture. I also learned that this usually happens at night when we are asleep! I love it when God awakens me and says, "Get up and write this down!" That happened in my earlier book, Lo & Behold: A Christmas Story.

Georgie! is another story from my dream life. It is a mixture of childhood memories which take shape in the characters and events in the story-fishing with my father in the trout streams of Colorado; my husband's fishing adventures with his father as they just sat on the bank, waiting for a nibble; my brother's finding our black-and-white sheepdog at the Safeway store in Denver; a poem of a friend named "Mike."

These memories woven together with Bible verses and values I learned as a girl gave way to this story of God's grace in my life. I hope this little story will encourage those who read it to follow their dreams and know that God does answer and give them the desires of their hearts, especially when it is to help someone else!

Sally Breeze Green has become a published author of children’s books late in life. After attending a year of college, she was married for nearly 65 years until her husband passed away in June of 2021. We approach the Bible with American eyes and therefore completely miss or misunderstand so much of it. It is an old Middle Eastern book. I was raised in a pastor’s family where God was in the air. The record of God’s activities, the Bible, was revered, studied, and memorized.

I was expected to become a pastor like my father. Serving three little country churches while in college was fulfilling. But one year in theological seminary became so confusing that I left the ministerial training track.
While teaching English, or retraining for Speech/Language Therapy, the Bible was always my source of strength. I wrote my Sunday School lessons and was blessed to have many opportunities to substitute preach.
The questions of seminary and my Sunday School class forced me to work through what I believed and why.
It took ten years of thinking to solve those problems. But I now have a reasoned out position that tells me the Bible is the record of God’s reaching into our world to touch many lives.
