Words Matter is about all the topics we don't like to talk about: aging, parenting, children, adversity. These moments in time can be read by themselves or as part of the whole story of the author finding her voice through her experiences. The stories are shared by many although the names and places may change. We are all struggling to figure out where we belong and how we can grow and evolve as we age. What makes this book unique is that anyone who picks it up will find a story or stories that seem to be written just for them. The author hopes readers take away a sense of comradery as they strive to be their best every day.
About the Author
Judy Marano lives in beautiful Brewster, New York with her husband, two dogs, and two cats. She is the mom of twin boys who are successfully navigating the world as decent, kind human beings. She is a college professor of writing and public speaking as well as a business owner. Educational Awareness, her company, assists high school students through the college process, with her favorite part being the college essay. She does not miss a day on her yoga mat or going for a long walk. She is a beach-loving girl whose happy place is in the Jersey shore.

About the Author

J. Carlton Sharp was raised as an only child while both his parents worked full time. It did not take long for him to assume many of the household duties in his home. The YMCA became the most important force in molding his life from the age of 7 to the age of 18. As an adult, he spent nearly 50 years working for the National Security Agency. He was privileged to travel to 76 countries to help their governments improve telecommunications systems. He also served President Ronald Reagan in 1987, conducting an investigation of the internal White House Personnel in the Iran-Contra Affair.

I never set out to write a book. The book found me. Hearing a sermon based on Acts 9:1-19, the conversion of Saul on the road to Damascus was very unsettling. This was radical. It caused me to question my own conversion and to wonder, what do we mean when we use the term, “radical”? It led me to formulate six questions I needed answers to relative to my own faith and to understand “Radical Islam” in comparison. I decided to write a book as a means to answer these questions.

The questions are:

1. What are the similarities and differences between Islam and Christianity?

2. What are the similarities and differences between the Qur’an and the Bible?

3. Is Islam truly a religion of peace”? Is Christianity more militant and violent than commonly professed or admitted?

4. Was my quiet, almost unnoticed, conversion as powerful as Saul’s or other dramatic conversions?

5. Why was I so unprepared to rationally discus these comparisons with my counterpart, a sincere Muslim?

I used my personal life journey to accepting Christ as the vehicle to discuss these and other questions.

Author Bio -
Born July 22, 1941, in San Diego, CA. Grew up in Fullerton, CA where he placed 3rd in the California HS State mile in 1958. He then won the California Junior College State 880 and set the JUCO National Record. Later at Occidental College is set the school record in the Mile with a time of 4:05.4.
He then spent three years in the Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Captain in the Artillery and was deployed to Viet Nam in 1967. Returning home, he enrolled in graduate school at San Diego State University and earned a Master’ Degree in Exercise Physiology.
Next he worked in the Los Angeles County Occupational Health Department as an Exercise Physiologist where he tested the physical fitness of LA County Deputy Sheriff and LA County Fire Department applicants for two years.
Eventually he returned to his first love, Track and Cross County and spent twelve years as the head coach at The California Institute of Technology and then nineteen years in the same role at BIOLA (Bible Institute of Los Angeles) University.
After retirement, he and wife Gail moved to Colorado to be near their grandchildren and is currently serving as the head Cross Country Coach for Boys and Girls at The Vanguard School (high school)

Guy Morinville is a born again Christian who is full of compassion and believes in spreading the word of God to unbelievers.

Carmeline was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.  She spent the first part of her life in theatre, working professionally as a theatrical lighting designer.  

Marriage and raising a family led her to a new career as a songwriter and poet.  Her first book of poetry, "Reflections on Myself" was published in 1990. 

 Like many poets, Carmeline has been a social activist, environmentalist and philanthropist  For most of her life, spending many years working toward equality for people with physical and mental disabilities.  An active member of the New Thought movement, she both studied and taught metaphysics and mysticism for the past 40 years.
