This week we (I, me, I don’t why I say ‘we’ like this operation is bigger than one dickhead in a basement) have as our (MY) guest a bonafide legend in the annals of internet horror history. He is the granddaddy of creepypastas, the progenitor of an entire subculture of horror fiction, the great, the interesting, the genuinely lovable Ted Hegemann, otherwise knows as Ted the Caver. We talk about the story, the impact, the movie, and the man behind it all.
Also I don’t want to brag, but I’m fairly certain I’m the only person on the internet with even one interview with Ted, and here I am hitting you with a round 2. I wish I knew how I bamboozled this man into letting me be his sole interviewer.
———
Ted has no links to promote because he’s just a normal, cool dude and not at all concerned with driving traffic to his website and socials. We should all be a little more like Ted. And with that being said…

Andrew Najberg is the incredibly talented author of the novel Gollitok (which it also a part of the 2024 Indie Brawl!) and the peotry collection The Goats Have Taken Over the Barracks, and he's got a whole list of forthcoming horror works coming out in the next couple years through a variety of publishers. He's also a very cool dude who is a great hang, a wealth of knowledge of writing, and someone I won't be mad about making it further in the Brawl than I do.

Todd Keisling is an unstoppable force in the horror genre with a number of awards and nominations under his belt. His most recent release, "Cold, Black, & Infinite" - perhaps the best horror collection I've ever read -- was nominated for a Stoker Award in a category stacked with immensely talented folks. We talk horror, movies, cults, and more!

I'm joined by perhaps the manliest son of a gun I've ever had the pleasure of speaking to, a man who is at once a comedian, an actor, an artist, a wrestler, a Philly dirtbag, and a medieval seige weaponry engineering enthusiast, Mr. Ryan Shaner. Ryan is the second of many Philly comics that will be on the show, and he deserves every bit of attention he gets from this podcast, which I can almost...ALMOST guarantee will be none at all.

Matt Cardin (To Rouse Leviathan) and Jon Padgett (The Secret to Ventriloquism) are two of the leading forces in Weird fiction, and each have a close connection to arguably the greatest and most undersung scribe of horror fiction, Thomas Ligotti. Together, Jon and Matt possess untold amounts of knowledge on writing, horror, philosophy, and creepy ass puppets.

Simon Strantzas is the immensely talented author of five shrot story collections (including one of my personal favorites, Burnt Black Suns), and the Shirley Jackson Award-winning editor of three Weird Fiction anthologies. He's also a big fan of Gaiman's Sandman, so that automatically elevates he and I to best friend status.

I was fortunate enough to sit down with the cast of 2016's "Blair Witch" - Friend of the show Brandon Scott (Peter), the wealth of entertainment that is Wes Robinson (Lane), and the effortlessly charming James Allen McCune (James). They have so much insight into the making of a sequel to a beloved horror property, and the pressure that comes with it. I don't have much to say about it. Just watch. These guys are awesome.
