Clarke County Commissioners talked at Tuesday’s meeting about the recent decision to work with a new ambulance service in the county. At the last meeting, commissioners agreed to put Newman’s Ambulance, a Mobile-based company, on rotation for ambulance calls. WILCOX COUNTY, Ala. - A single-car crash on Thursday morning has claimed the life of Camden man, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. Cody W. Couch, 33, was fatally injured when the vehicle he was a passenger in left the roadway, overturned, and hit several trees around 12:30 a.m. Couch, who was not using a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. A hunter in Lowndes County recently tested positive for rabies after being attacked. A warning has been issued to veterinarians statewide to remind of the importance of rabies vaccinations and other potential dangers of the disease.
