Those Were The Days

We're headed all the way back to the 1950s by way of the 1970s with Happy Days! This classic is one of those that its hard to not know about even if you've never seen it before. In this episode, we follow the story of Richie Cunningham as he tries to overcome his fears and enjoy a party at an abandoned house. You know. Normal kid stuff. It's a good time on Happy Days and we hope you enjoy it too!

Next week, it's time for Alfred Hitchcock Presents - S3E1 - The Glass Eye. Streaming on Amazon Prime and Peacock

That's THOSE were the days. Accent on the "THOSE!" Maybe you know what we're talking about or maybe you don't and are about to go on a nostalgic journey back into kids television. Are You Afraid of the Dark was a staple of Nickelodeon's Saturday night SNICK lineup. It closed out the night with spooky tales told by The Midnight Society around a campfire. It was just spooky enough to scare kids, but was it spooky enough for adults too? Does it even hold up? We'll find out on today's episode!

We're heading back to the well for this season premeire! Travis brings us a famous late stage Seinfeld episode known as "The Butter Shave." We've watched an episode of Seinfeld before, but like a fine wine these episodes get better with age. Have the characters grown since the early days? No. Are they any better at being people? Definitley not. But are they as fun to watch as ever? Probably? Tune in as our classic TV crew checks out this famous Seinfeld episode.

Up next! It's time for SPOOKY SEASON. Audie is taking us back to our childhoods for the traumatic experience that was:

This week, our super sleuths take on the myster show, Columbo! Starring Peter Falk, Columbo was about a mild mannered and easy going but brilliant detective. Following in the vein of Agatha Christie novels, the show found Columbo solving murders and puzzles with a wink and a smile. Did our hosts like it? Let's find out!

This week, we head back to the well with TGIF and watch Step By Step! This 90s sitcom was largely considered a bit of an update to The Brady Bunch, focusing on a blended family and all the chaos that comes with cramming 9 people into a house. Come to think of it, I guess that's just a good concept for sitcom television over all. This episode is all about one of the youngest kids learning karate to handle all the bullies at school. It's pretty solid, heartfelt television and we're here for it.

We're taking the week off next week, but the following week, Amy is taking us to a cop show!

We're back! Your favorite retro channel surfers are back in the saddle and ready to take a look at classic TV with you. We had a great break over the summer. Well, except for Travis who went to Hawaii, found a tiki idol, and is still fighting a serious case of bad luck. Maybe he can bury it in the backyard and be rid of it. Anywho! Since we're doing a bit of a premiere, we figured it would be a good idea to take a look at the premieres of our favorite shows! We're going to be looking at season premiers this month, so rather than diving into pilot episodes, we're checking out episodes that everyone eagerly anticipated as the start of the TV season was kicking off. We had a great time with Who's The Boss and we think you will too!

Next week, it's time to watch Step By Step - S4E1 - The Karate Kid. Streaming on Hulu/Max!

We travel to the distant future this week with one of our favorite all time cartoons, Futurama! Probably one of the newest old things that we've ever covered, and we had a great time discussing what made this show so much fun. It was a clip show so we had a good ol' mashup of things that showed off what a normal episode might look like. We hope you dig it!

Next week, we're kicking off Halloween episodes with Night Court - S7E4! Streaming on Freevee!

Re-Run! Enjoy this episode while we're on a short break.

This week, Amy takes us on a hilarious trek to Possum Lodge, where Red Green and his merry band of misfits tackle the wilds of manhood, machinery, and lawn care in "Coup De Grass." In an episode where the grass is definitely not greener on the other side, the lodge members declare war on traditional lawn maintenance, leading to a series of comedic misadventures that only Red Green's logic can devise. Amy, alongside Stephen, TVsTravis, and Audie, delves into the rustic charm and wit of this quintessentially Canadian series, exploring the episode's inventive solutions, laugh-out-loud moments, and the eternal wisdom of the Man's Prayer.
