Today is a special day y’all, we have two great visitors who are gonna immensely add to the topic we are having today. Before we get into that, I’d love for y’all to introduce yourselves
Episode Topic: Gabrielle Union and Women Just Like Her: How Do We, If We Support Our Black Women
Segment A: Lebert gives Topic Recap: Gabrielle Union was fired from her job at “America’s Got Talent” last month due to speaking on the racist behavior her coworkers were subjected to or said behind their backs. She then followed up with saying that she, too, has received comments on her person and more specifically her hair.
Question 1) Using your own experiences, Can you both describe or provide insight on how you navigated events such as this? 10 min- 3 min for both Mai & Paris to respond 4 min for group reflection.
Black women are frequently praised for their strength, for their willingness to do the “right thing”, but this seems like more of a forced-choice than a decision.

Segment B: As a survivor and advocate herself, Gabrielle Union was one of the loudest supporters of Terry Crews when he was assaulted. Sadly, Terry Crews did not return the favor, and I have heard many Black women say this is common.
Question 3) As Black women and on a deeper level, In what ways do you feel Black men have, or have not supported you. We’re talking in general, personal, and/or professionally. In which ways have you felt misunderstood by them/us? 5 mi
Question 4) What suggestions do you have for our listeners around supporting black women better and how we can be stronger as a community vs as individual entities(i.e. Black Women, Black Men)? 5 min
