In this episode, I am joined by Carrie Ann Stevens, who sadly lost her mother to alcohol addiction at the age of 19. After witnessing her mother’s mental and physical struggles, Carrie was inspired to retrain as a personal trainer, focusing on helping individuals battling mental health challenges and addiction. Today, she collaborates closely with the physiotherapy team at the Countess of Chester Hospital, working on the acute mental health wards. Carrie also speaks on addiction and fitness at pilot events across the Northwest and works with children to enhance their mental health and fitness. She is in the process of launching her first wellness hub, focused on fitness, mental health, and recovery, which we discuss further in the episode.
