Simplify doesn’t mean doing as little as possible. 

We don’t want to be like the worst version of our students, getting away with as little as possible. But we also don’t want to be idealist dreamers, planning for so much more than is actually possible.

Have a purpose for everything you assign. 

Avoid busy work. Will having done this work make a difference in the child’s education? Will both of you be happy in ten years that you did it.
