  • Dr. John Demartini: Define Your Values & Empower Your Life
I recently had the honour and privilege to sit down with the world renowned specialist in human behaviour, Dr. John Demartini, to talk about values, visualisation, the power of gratitude and much more. Dr. John is considered one of the worlds leading authorities in the area of human behaviour and his work has greatly shaped & influenced my life. He is a researcher, author and global educator with an incredible story of overcoming personal challenges and difficulties. Dr. John has developed a curriculum of personal development programmes. Some of the areas addressed in the programmes include understanding human behaviour and human values, clarifying purpose and vision, goal setting, relationship empowerment, leadership development, financial empowerment, dealing with emotions and much more. Dr. John has also appeared in many films and documentaries including “The Secret”. I attended The Breakthrough Experience last May in Dublin, a 2 day programme run by Dr. John, which helps individuals of all ages and from all walks of life to establish what is really important to them, to change perceptions and dissolve emotions that run their lives and to break through the barriers that prevent them from living an inspired, purposeful and fulfilling life. I can wholeheartedly say that this programme did exactly that for me. It’s an intense 2 day workshop that I have no doubt will impact on me for the rest of my life. The Breakthrough Experience returns to Dublin on 22nd and 23rd February 2020 and further information can be found on www.drdemartini.com (click on Events).

  • Suicide Awareness for World Mental Health Day with Ciara McCullough
Today (10th October 2019) is World Mental Health Day and the theme for this year is Suicide Prevention. In order to raise awareness about suicide, I’m joined on this episode by Killaloe based wedding photographer Ciara McCullough who shares her mental health journey. Ciara lost her father to suicide when she was just 1 year old and had three failed suicide attempts in her late teens and early 20s. She sought help after her third failed suicide attempt and discovered through psychotherapy and counselling that she didn’t have to believe every negative thought that she had. She also gained a set of tools and strategies through these sessions that she could resort to during her darker moments. Ciara bravely shares her story in an attempt to encourage others who may be struggling to realise that there is hope, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that help and support is there if you are willing to open up, ask for help and talk. You can find Ciara on Instagram @pushedbeyonddefeat or @tiltedtripodweddings. If you are struggling and need someone to talk to there are many Irish helplines which provide a listening service and confidential, non-judgemental support. These include Samaritans 116 123, Aware 1800 80 48 48 and Pieta House 1800 247 247.
