The carnivore diet has been around for as long as humans have existed. Our ancestors, as hunter-gatherers, ate mostly meat for thousands of years. They thrived on meat, and they preferred it.
There has been an eternal battle between plants and animals for as long as they have existed. Both are living organisms that have the sole purpose of survival and reproduction. To survive and defend themselves, animals have legs, hoofs, claws, teeth, and so on. Plants do not have that luxury and are much more vulnerable to predation. However, let's wait to count these underdogs out for the count because plants have developed their means of defending themselves against predators through chemical warfare. Over millions of years, plants have developed defence chemicals to deter animals from consuming them. Over time, some animals, such as cows, have developed a digestive system specialized in breaking these foods down.
What do you think our ancestors thought the first time they tried kale? I am sure they took a bite and spit it out. Kale doesn't taste good on its own, and there is a reason for that. Raw kale upsets digestion because of its high concentration of these defence chemicals. Now, why would kale cause these effects on humans? Ohh, yes, so we didn't continue eating them. Over thousands of years, our ancestors learned to eat animals first, then fruit, then vegetables as a last resort.
