Before we get into that, though, I’ll dig into the question of drawing a clear line between ministry and business. How do you avoid being taken advantage of in your business when you serve and minister for free?

I made the difference very clear from the beginning that my business was business (and therefore paid), and that my ministry events were ministry (and free). In your business, it’s important that people know that you charge for your services. However, when you’re in ministry, continue to serve in that vein as well with a very specific line between the two.

This is why I held my first live event for my business at a hotel rather than my church. In this way, I drew a line between my ministry and my business. This is an example of setting clear boundaries between the two, which will help you avoid confusion and frustration later on!

And now, onto confidence! Sometimes, going higher means experiencing more turbulence. This is why it’s so important to care for our confidence as we move forward and upward in our journeys. Here are some fantastic tips to help you protect your confidence:

1. Have a clear strategy of what you’re going to do.
2. Have the right (supportive) people around you!
3. Know your “why.”

Forgiveness lets you feel absolutely free, liberated, and empowered. God has needed to forgive me a whole lot, and I’m so grateful that He did. Has He needed to forgive you, too? Have you felt yourself becoming less judgmental and more full of grace the more you’re forgiven? It’s your turn to pass that onto others through the power of forgiveness.

What are you going to let go of? Who have you been playing it safe with, while politely keeping your distance? Who has been mean or rude to you? Bob Goff, author of Everybody, Always, says not to tell these people all your opinions. Instead, give them all your love. Isn’t that incredible? If you do this, I promise two things will happen. First, it will be messy (and sometimes ugly). Second, you will grow. People who are growing fall forward and bump into Jesus all over again. And that’s worth the mess!

Remember that the best billboard is a life well-lived. Let your life speak, let God use you, and choose forgiveness today. Keep planting those seeds of love, and I promise that you will reap what you sow.

Here are the steps:

1. Start asking yourself better questions. To get clarity on your purpose, ask yourself questions about your unique skills, abilities, and personality traits, and the dreams and passions that keep showing up.
