  • Unstable: Always the Critic | Kirsten Salgado

It is __________ to be critical.

[Galatians 5:15 NLT] “But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.”

    Being critical is spiritual _________________.

It makes the whole Body of Christ ______________.

[Galatians 6:1 NIV] “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.”

[2 Corinthians 5:16-20 NLT] “So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

[Luke 19:5-10 NLT] When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” 6 Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. 7 But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled. 8 Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!” 9 Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”

When we identify something that is wrong, our goal should be to bring people closer to __________.

[Luke 6:39-42 NIV] “He also told them this parable: “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit? 40 The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher. 41 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

________________is the pre-requisite for God’s call to help ____________ others.

  • Unstable: Problem Fixation | Matt Karlak

Problem fixation: the inability to look beyond the circumstances to think __________________  about a situation.

    [1 Kings 17-19]

Even the Godliest can get __________________.  When the problems of the moment cover over the glory of God.

    God knows you are __________________.

He is not always heard in the loudness, or in a mighty show of power, but is mostly in __________________ _________ __________________  when it seems like he’s not doing anything.

[1 Peter 5:7 NLT] Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Give your problems over to God and __________________ that he will act.

[Romans 5:1-5 NLT]  Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

[Romans 8:28 ESV] And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

[Romans 8:31 ESV] What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

  • Unstable: Approval Addiction | Judah Thomas

When our lives are __________________ it allows the enemy to __________________.

[Psalm 16:7-9] I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. [8] I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. [9] No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.

Constantly seeking __________________ from others will make us unstable.

You weren't designed to please __________________.

[Galatians 1:10] Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant.

I will __________________ be unstable if I seek the approval of people.

Being obsessed with what people think is the fastest way to forget what ____________ __________________.

[Proverbs 29:25] Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety.

Living for God's approval is the __________________ for trying to always please people.

[John 12:37, 42-43] But despite all the miraculous signs Jesus had done, most of the people still did not believe in him. [42] Many people did believe in him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders. But they wouldn't admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue. [43] For they loved human praise more than the praise of God.

Being obsessed with what people __________________ about you is the fastest way to __________________ what God thinks about you.

[Psalm 118:6-9] The LORD is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? [7] Yes, the LORD is for me; he will help me. I will look in triumph at those who hate me. [8] It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in people. [9] It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.

    When I have God's approval I don't need _______________ else's.

  • Sync Up: Alone Time | Judah Thomas

Solitude is pulling away from things to _______________ _______________ with God.

[Psalm 16:11 ESV] You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Loneliness bring _______________ but solitude brings _______________.

We need to intentionally combat _______________, busyness and _______________.

[Mark 6:30-32] The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told him all they had done and taught. [31] Then Jesus said, "Let's go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile." He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn't even have time to eat. [32] So they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone.

Solitude is intentional _______________ for a _______________ purpose.

Solitude enables us to sense the _____________________ of God.

[Psalm 62:5-6] Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. [6] He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.

God’s resources are ____________________ than we think.

[Exodus 14:13-14 ESV] And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. [14] The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

God created you because he wants to have a ___________________ with you.

[Acts 3:19-20] Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. [20] Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.

  • Sync Up: Power in Prayer | Judah Thomas

[2 Chronicles 7:14-15] Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. [15] My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.

God always ______________ our prayers, but that doesn't mean He always ______________ them the way we want.

It is a privilege to be ______________ by God.

Prayer is having a ____________________ with God.

[Luke 5:15-16] But despite Jesus' instructions, the report of his power spread even faster, and vast crowds came to hear him preach and to be healed of their diseases. [16] But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.

Prayer is an important way to _________ ______ with God.

[John 15:5-7] "Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. [6] Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. [7] But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!

When you are ______________ with God He will answer your prayers.

[1 John 5:14-15] This is the confidence we have before him: If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. [15] And if we know that he hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked of him.

God is looking for people who's ______________ ______________ is getting close to Him.

[Luke 18:10-14] "Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. [11] The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: 'I thank you, God, that I am not a sinner like everyone else. For I don't cheat, I don't sin, and I don't commit adultery. I'm certainly not like that tax collector! [12] I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.' [13] "But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, 'O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.' [14] I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted."

  • Sync Up: Lifestyle Generosity | Judah Thomas

Generosity is the key to unlocking God's __________________ in your life.

[Proverbs 11:24] Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything.

God invites us to test Him with our __________________.

[Malachi 3:10-11] Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies, "I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! [11] Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies.

God __________________ to bless those who live generously!

[Luke 6:38 NIV] Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

[2 Corinthians 8:2] They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.

    Generosity brings __________________.

[2 Corinthians 8:3] For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will.

    Generosity is __________________.

[2 Corinthians 9:6] Remember this--a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.

[2 Corinthians 8:4-5] They begged us again and again for the privilege of sharing in the gift for the believers in Jerusalem. [5] They even did more than we had hoped, for their first action was to give themselves to the Lord and to us, just as God wanted them to do.

    Generosity is __________________.

[2 Corinthians 9:7] You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. "For God loves a person who gives cheerfully."

Generosity is a response to the _____________ _____________.

[James 1:17 CSB] Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

It is impossible to be in __________________ with God and __________________ be generous.

  • Sync Up: I Give Up | Judah Thomas

[Philippians 3:18-19] For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. [19] They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth.

Biblical fasting always focuses on __________________ purposes.

Fasting strengthens your __________________ with God.

[Matthew 5:6 NIV] Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

We ______________ things up so that we can ______________ up our lives to Jesus.

[Hebrews 11:6] And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

When you fast, your __________________ weakens and your __________________ strengthens.

[Proverbs 10:3 NET] The LORD satisfies the appetite of the righteous, but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.

Stop trying to satisfy a __________________ that only God can fill.

[Matthew 16:24] Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Our goal shouldn't be to get God to ________________ our will, but to get us _________________ with His will.

You can either control your __________________ or they will __________________ you.

God promises to direct us when we put Him ____________.

If we are synced up to the ____________ we are out of sync with ____________.

[Proverbs 14:12] There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.

    A ___________ without ___________ accomplishes nothing.

[Matthew 7:24-27] "Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. [25] Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on bedrock. [26] But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn't obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. [27] When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash."

You can't say you want to be in ____________ with God, and then _________________ His Word.

If you want to know God's ____________, you have to know His ____________.

When things appear to be ____________ of control you can be sure that ____________ is still in control.

[Proverbs 3:5-10] Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. [6] Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
